Yes. Typically things like expenses, auditing, policies are just a reflection of audit or accounting practice.
Thanks. Im looking into differences between working for a pure consulting firm like Mbb, booz, atk, boutique, etc vs an accounting firm with a consulting arm.
I keep getting hit up by big 4 recruiters, but truthfully i am sometimes hesitant bc its an accounting firm not a consulting firm. Im not sure if this is the wrong view.
There used to be a time when compensation was the biggest differentiator. The benefits at MBB are definitely better, but compensation is alot more competitive now at big 4s if you are in the right group.
Yes. You have to track everything in the system including investments.
I’ve been at BAH an currently Deloitte. Biggest difference is the independence stuff like D1 mentions. Otherwise it’s not something you notice. If you’re gvmt focused, attest clients won’t matter.
I second what everyone else said and the advisory work that is conducted is influenced by what is best for the audit practice. So lots of audit partners confirming that they approve of what advisory is doing by sign off. Sometimes it feels like advisory is under a microscope so we don’t cross some independence barrier.
