Once had a Female colleague wear white denim booty shorts to Client site on a Casual Friday... She shared an awkward elevator ride with the Client CEO.
Pics or it didn’t happen
If you’ve ever been to an Indian wedding, there’s always one uncle dressed VERY casually (tshirt and jeans, no shoes) even when it’s a black tie wedding lol. Cracks me up every time
Haha yeah makes me wonder if all the Indian uncles just get together and draw straws on who is gonna do it for the next wedding so there’s always someone to hold down the tradition
White athletic socks with formal shoes, lol. Big no no!
Hands down biggest faux pas for a male!
I work in govt IT space so there’s quite a bit…biggest for me are maroon/dark shirts while also wearing a dark tie.
Id never be caught dead in either.
The other big ones are square toe shoes and too much pattern combination.
A stipe tie with a solid shirt is fine but with a plaid it’s too busy. One could maybe get away with a window pane and a patterned tie but it would have to be a very thin window pane.
Gov space attire is literally the worst s*** I’ve ever seen.
Wearing running or gym shoes with jeans. Will only accept this to/from a commute that involves a decent amount of walking.
This one has started to grow on me in recent years- seeing the white crew shirt underneath an unbuttoned dress shirt.. guys just wear a v-neck so you don’t see the white shirt.
Sounds about right if you are at Cicero. Great people but not the best sense of style.
IT shoes. Square toe shoes for men
🤢
About 20 years ago I had a “leather” jacket that wasn’t real leather. After getting called out I took a fresh look at it and….yeah it wasn’t good. Cost me 100 quid at the time
And today thats called vegan leather 😂
Shoes for men seem to be the biggest issue. Lots of these disgusting rubber square toed loafers paired with otherwise fine outfits. Also wearing athletic shoes to an office is always going to be tacky
Most of my career has been federal govt clients. Lets just say they give no fks and wear anything. Leggins has to be the biggest offender. Close second is club dresses.
High waist jeans. They seem to have come back in style for a certain age group, then—I’m thankful—fell out of style quite soon. I mean, I’m kind of a contrarian, but that was ridiculous.
Light blue seersucker suit with yellow leather shoes and yellow silk tie. I thought it was fabulous and when people wanted pictures with the outfit, I understood.
The seersucker I get. Just not the yellow with it. But yellow loafers can be fabulous.
