I think R’s take both House and Senate. Fetterman and Warnock both lose narrowly, NC goes blue.

Trumps candidates all lose. Media has been overstating his influence. R’s were too focused on campaigning for themselves, they forgot to get people to register

Democrats maintain house majority. Val Demings beats Rubio and flips FL senate seat. North Carolina goes blue.

Democrats have another blue wave. Cue election deniers, violence, and burning city halls come to the weekend

upliftinglike

VP, what? You said blue wins all around. As of this morning

FL = dominated red
NY = stays blue
OH = red
PA = blue
GA = gov red, tbd senate
AZ = blue
PA = blue

Senate = split
House = red

Im not seeing a blue wave, but I’m def not seeing a red wave. Looks very split, which I’m surprised because Biden just kind of hid while letting Obama talk, didn’t think that could work another election cycle.

Dems are going to over perform and keep both houses of Congress. Just like they’ve over performed in every recent special election. Enough people finally understand Democracy and all the rights that come with it are at stake. Republicans had an opening with Biden’s poor approval, but they ran the worst candidates imaginable, continued to embrace the Big Lie and an openly criminal President, and forgot to propose ANY PLAN WHATSOEVER except for holding the debt ceiling hostage to cut social security and Medicare. Lots of late deciders who take an honest *glimpse* at the candidates are going to break for Democrats.

The pollsters admit they have no idea how to do their job anymore. Not only are the polls garbage and disproportionately Republican (no doubt setting up fraud narratives), but the fact Rs lead them will drive Democrat turnout — nobody is going to stay home thinking any race is a gimme, or that any race is truly over given the stakes. Covid has been murdering the Republican base and decreasing their numbers. Young people won’t show up big time, but they’ll show up.

End result is Democrats buck historical trends and keep control. Question is, can they make it to 52 in the Senate? I bet yes. 52 exactly. Biden codifies Roe as promised.

Get out there, Dems. MAGAs, sweet dreams tonight. Maybe join us back in reality after you lose, and give up on screaming about imaginary fraud — it’s a loser.

Do any of you have the title “paralegal” but no paralegal certification? I do a lot of actual paralegal work but not sure if it would be looked down upon to use that as my title on LinkedIn/email signature.

(My company doesn’t really assign titles btw - my boss calls me his paralegal)

Lived in Manhattan straight out of college for five yes before heading to grad school in the Midwest. Went from a Midwest city to a small town. while I miss nyc, I’ve really gotten settled into my sleepy town life amongst some very beautiful nature. Everything is easy - getting groceries,affording the bills. my SO just got a job offer that will put us back in nyc. Mixed feelings about this especially as we’re now early 30s and looking to start a family. Anyone experience leaving and coming back?

How bad is it if you don't Daubert an expert? I took the depo of plaintiff's public adjuster and I somehow missed that he is listed as an expert. I asked if he made a cause and origin determination and he said no as he was just hired to do an estimate and inspection. But that's about it. I'm worried I totally fucked the case up. It's first party property price and scope case.

Any insight into what NY Biglaw counsel positions pay? I imagine it varies but I think my firm may be majorly lowballing with basically just senior associate salary. Bonuses are likely just top of associate scale too so max $100k. I hear people leaving for much higher paid counsel spots elsewhere so curious.

I had an initial interview on Wednesday. About an hour later, I got a call from an internal recruiter from the same company wanting to follow up and see how the interview went. I didn’t see the voicemail until the following morning when I was at work and called her back that afternoon when I was out of work. I still haven’t heard from her. Is this normal? Should I not try calling back again? I’ve been at my job for several years, so I am unfamiliar with how I should handle a situation like this.

Can someone help me understand why a person who’s biggest reasons (high taxes, high cost of living, and strict lockdown laws) for moving away from their left leaning home state (CA & NY) to a right leaning state (TX&FL) that has little to no state income taxes, low cost of living, and lax lockdown laws still vote left when its those left leaning principles that have driven them out of their home state in the first place? Do they not realize theyre biting the hand that feeds them?

Theory: Trump is losing his mind because he’s essentially been forced to become celibate. He obviously loves chasing women of all kinds, but now he can’t. Four more years? He’ll go totally insane.
