I’m a bit embarrassed of how much credit card debt I was in. I could’ve asked my parents for help but was too proud. So I don’t have anyone in real life to celebrate with. But I’m so happy!

like

Proud of you! Do something small to celebrate!. Also, a 10K taxable advance is tight fir city living. You did your best.

Thank you! Yeah, not to mention I couldn’t find another job due to Covid! I was not above just bartending or something for a few months, but I am high risk thanks to an autoimmune disease and didn’t want to risk it.

Thought this story had a sad ending but that’s great news! It’s tough to get above water in the beginning but experiencing that feeling will make you all the more conscientious about spending habits in the future.

Yay! Congratulations and enjoy those full paychecks.

Yeah this was my situation exactly except had another 5K that was from pre law school mistakes. I’ll be done in a few months though!

Just received cousin's invite to her wedding and it's on a Sunday. It's not necessarily a destination wedding but is in a city that neither she nor her family, nor her partner's family lives, so everybody has to fly + get hotels. I'm annoyed because I think it's a but disrespectful to your guests to make them all travel and do it on a Sunday so people have to take time off work Monday in order to attend. I know I don't have to attend, but shouldn't it be convenient for guests?

I started working in a agency two months ago, and I have two very big projects running simultaneously. My Creative Director left for paternity leave, and left me with all the work, facing the client, going to shootings, editing. I've been working 15 days straight, no weekends. The agency hasn't given me any back up/someone I can team up with to do the job. Is this normal? I'm used to have a partner, a copywriter or another creative working alongside. Keep in mind that I'm mid-level.

I'm hiring for an analytics manager role. M&A Healthcare focus. Effectively work with PE on "business diligence". Revenue cycle management experience is a big plus. Not much ML used in the practice but I'm trying to change that. In an ideal world you know ML, PowerBI, alteryx, and rev cycle. Bit of a unicorn ask. If anyone is interested feel free to hit me up.

So my 18yo daughter who just started college texted me that she wants to do solo Europe travel in December and mom (my ex wife approved it). My daughter has traveled extensively in the US and abroad with me. However, she has never traveled even to a neighboring town in the US solo and is just learning what it means to live by herself as a freshman. I'm very concerned for her safety but if I put my foot down, my daughter will detest me. How do other parents in this bowl see the situation?

Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
