I’m getting ready to start my FT position as a HUC (Health Unit Coordinator) in Labor and Delivery. I know it will be a while before I do anything of the sort, or IF I do anything of the sort. But I wondered if there were any other HUCs on here who crosstrained? (Wether as a PCT Patient Care Tech, Medical Records, or Telemetry?) was it worth it?

Hello all. Looking for thoughts and opinions. I’ve been a sales manager with a small company (I refuse to say it is a start up anymore since they bring in several million in ARR). I’ve been with them for a year and a half. I started at 50k and now make 63k. I am a full-cycle sales manager…the company does not believe in the use of BDRs. There’s no opportunity for growth. Is my salary fair (per MA standards)? I was promised high OTE… but with no marketing team I also hardly get leads.

I just had a doc appointment and as I was walking up, I noticed 4 staff members with their masks completely pulled down below their chins until they saw me approaching. They then pulled their masks up but it made me uncomfortable. If masks are required in doctors offices, shouldn’t they remain on all the time even if patients aren’t in the immediate vicinity? Especially since covid can last in the air for hours. I’m vaccinated but higher risk

Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. Zero credit or thank you for the work I did.

My manager casually threw out that she had an exec tell her it’s fine if she wants to close my division down next year. We are a niche team in a large company. I asked her to clarify as I am worried about my team (and me) she said we would be “well taken care of” as in receive severance…she was so casual about it and said she didn’t know what she would do - we’re performing well, but it’s a small market. What do I do? Warn my team? Look for jobs? I have been here for 20 years w/niche skills…

Hi all,

Got a bit of an odd request.

I'm a Project Manager at Sainsbury's based in Holborn and was wondering if anyone would be able to give me a tour of their London Big4 office?? I've never been in their office and I would like to visualise what I'm striving for. Willing to meet up for a coffee before hand or have an initial call. Coffee's on me!

TIA

Anybody here that works in NYC office? I’m visiting the office next month as selected by my university and would love to meet some of you and grab coffee/chat

Hi boys & girls!

Joined a big firm (Big4) not long a go and starting to feel like I got a good grip on my current work.

I've always been very technical, so I think that the only thing I am missing now is making sales. (I really wanna make partner)

Can any seasoned lawyer share tips and materials (i.e. books) which can help?

Would it be a good idea to join a Social Club where potential clients spend time? (gym/tennis/paddel/events)

Any advice welcome!

I don’t understand how, but it feels like big law partners don’t get that we are only in this for the money (and they are too). “Experience” only helps me if it translates to future value. And “future” value means something different than it did 30 years ago when most people wanted to make partner.

For people who lateraled from midsized/regional to a big firm (AM100/200), what year were you when you moved & what was your experience like? Are you happy with your move(s) given the differences—positive or negative—in your comp, hours worked, WLB, career growth/opportunities, etc.? I know it will vary vastly from person-to-person, location, firm, values, etc., but I’m weighing some options and am curious to hear different perspectives.
