Phew, barely made it past this round of layoffs at my firm. The pressure is getting worser.

Just got laid off but am holding onto God’s promise. Instead of wallowing and being bitter, I know I can trust Him to be faithful! God always has a plan and is always right on time. ✨

I quit my previous job approximately 5-6 months ago due to toxic culture and being pressured to commit fraud. I was a month in as Workday HCM Consultant with Accenture. They immediately throw me into the HCM courses to obtain my WD HCM certification. There are three parts HCM Essentials, HCM Applied, and HCM Practical. The passing score is 70 or above. I scored a 62 on the Essentials portion, I passed Applied, and at the end of this week Practical. During class, I received an “immediate connect” Team call and I was fired because of my low score. I'm devastated, and shocked. Yesterday was my birthday.

How do contractions really feel? FTM and I’m starting to feel a little pain in the lower part of my belly. Given I usually have a high tolerance for pain(after a ton of sports injuries) not sure what is true labor/contraction pain. Trying to avoid a car baby or a lobby baby😅

P.S: I don’t have a lot of pain during my period (which is what my mum keeps saying it’ll feel like). So unfortunately that reference hasn’t helped! Any advice helps!!

At a new firm and right away I knew I wasn’t going to get along with one partner. Had a conflict with one of his associates early on. Everyone else is cool. Got into it with the partner and he told me he didn’t need my help on his matters anymore. The cool associates are still asking if I can pitch in cause they’re swamped. I’m a nice guy (despite what the partner and uncool associate may say), so I’m helping out. I’m the guy that gets fired and shows up the next day. Results TBD.

Thinking of things like: updating checklist daily, following up if seniors haven’t responded to questions, running and circulating redlines as soon as opposing counsel’s comments come in, setting calendar invites for any filing/notice deadlines, etc.

I used a recruiter who is specialized in my practice to move firms about a year ago. I absolutely hate it here and want to move. What does partner track vs counsel actually look like? The senior counsel I work with seem to work just as much if not more than the partners I work with. Why not gun for partner if that’s going to be your life anyway with lower comp?
