How long did onboarding take you FDD folks?
I'm not in the practice but our office has had a ton of turnover in FDD. May have been a great opportunity for me to transfer in but got a great industry offer instead. I don't think you'll need to worry about deal flow since it's national but I imagine the turnover is concerning. I think people across all practices are realizing it's just not worth it for the comp.
A lot of our group went to Houlihan if that interests you. Comp seems much better there.
Gotcha that's fair. Well I'm definitely not qualified to tell you what to do, but can you turn to other big 4 that have a bigger deals presence in your city? I imagine it would come with a raise on top of getting out of a 2 person service line.
Which office? The FDD practice is a National one so if you have worked on deals and made connections with managers/directors you should be fine. Especially in the remote environment right now. Deal flow is crazy
I really doubt they would eliminate your position. Our deal work is out of control right now so there will always be a need. I’m sure you could also reach out to a regional/national partner to voice your concern because it’s a valid one
If all your bosses are gone does that make you partner now?

If you’re a SM, yes you have to basically act as a partner without the pay, so I think that’s why so many quit lol
Similar situation in the office I’m in. There has been a ton of turnover. I’d say just do what you think is best for you because this doesn’t seem like the normal course of business.

I had a call with the regional partner and voiced my concerns and I am satisfied with the plan. Not planning to leave anytime soon but thanks for all the offers to reach out.
For anyone feeling a bit stressed or burnt out or unsatisfied, I would recommend trying to find someone to talk to about it. Today’s chat really helped boost my morale and I am excited to play a role in rebuilding the team!

They are looking to get a partner located here, and then let him build out the team again as he grows the practice. I can also help with the interviews so I can help shape the culture of the team
Is this west coast? I know you already said you won’t state location but as an incoming you’re scaring me lol
DM me if you have any interest at all in my FDD group - we are growing rapidly in the Southwest and hiring seniors
DM me if you are interested in switching to EY - I’d be happy to help even if you just want more info. If you want to get out of big 4, I think A&M would be the move. Not a ton of work life balance but at least you will be well compensated.
^agreed
The comp at big 4 FDD is just putrid. Great experience to take forward though

I kind of figured if I am planning to work crazy hours I’d like to try the start up route. IB is great though if you have interest in certain exit ops
What offices are these in, I'm keen to get into FDD from audit and would be keen to move
