Bit of an odd question. I am classic statistician who now leads a small Data Science team. Most of my time is running multiple projects and no time coding. I am now getting pulled into more and more large dollar proposal work typically centered around doing the same type of small scale DS projects for some DoD client but at scale ie 5-10 projects each at the same LOE of my typical projects but in the cloud. So I could use some advice....see second post

1. What training is helpful for proposal writing
2. Specifically how can I learn to write about roles I don’t do ie data engineer or concepts like data governance or architecture etc.

One way seems to go do a bunch of training in all these areas but that seems kind of a waste since I won’t ever be a data engineer just write to it in a response. I assume I need a why is this role important what does this “item” do more than being able to do it myself.

Had a therapist who encouraged me to quit my job to be happy. Also encouraged me to not settle with my girlfriend because I’ll regret it (like how he regrets getting married). Ended up quitting my job and became more miserable, poor and suicidal. Haven’t seen my girlfriend due to long distance and COVID and we might break up soon. Did I just find a bad therapist or is it normal to project your own regrets to your patients?

Looking for practical advice on improving my attitude to work.

So imagine an imaginary scale where 0 is the worst piece of work a studio could produce and 10 is the best possible outcome.

As an animator working in an agency, I normally end up involved in projects towards the end, so by the time I get my hands on a project I can add between 1 and 3 depending on how much effort I put in.

If a project is a 3 when I get it, how do I summon the energy to make it a 6 that I could to make a 7 a 10?

This past couple of weeks I’ve received some feedback that projects I’ve sold have not been delivered to client expectations. I’m often present but not leading these teams as I am very fragmented across projects, sales and general leadership responsibilities. This negative feedback is making me believe I’m not good at my job and causing tons of self-doubt. Is this imposter syndrome? What should I do?

Anyone regret going into data and analytics? Sometimes I feel like I'm too dumb for it. I don't have a statistics background to really take things to the next level, and my colleagues don't have the hours to help me. My technical skills are OK, but nothing to shout at, especially when I don't really have the interest to learn. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and steer my career to a boring client-side position instead.
