Blackstone and some other mega PE funds are always posting front office roles on LinkedIn.. do they actually even review applications from those postings or is it entirely done through recruiting firms?

Hello there. I have been interviewing with Okta and got through all 5 rounds of interviews. They say they want to offer me the job but there is a global freeze for all marketing roles at the company. They want to offer me a contractor role instead. Does anyone here know if that is the case? I haven't heard anything as they seem be on wellness week. Thanks for any guidance :)

Anyone else getting ghosted by HR after being basically at the finish line? I’ve interviewed with two different companies and every interview going great. Five interviews in with both and then weeks later seeing they hired someone else on LinkedIn. I’m not mad they hired someone else but annoyed that they never send out an email or call saying they are going in another direction. Seems poor practice and makes me never want to work with them in the future.

I need insight on these “Tell me about a time” interview questions. I understand the response format (Situation, Task, Action, Result) however, I’m having difficulty with needing to have a story for a hella ton of scenarios when they’re asking these questions. Any tips/ tricks to pass this type of interview? So aggravating when interviewing and 90% of time in the interview are these questions and the last 10% are about your experience/ skills. Feel like I’m not able to really express myself.

How do you provide positive feedback on very bad writing? Is saying “good effort” and then providing a few focus areas for improvement enough? I find I spend a lot of valuable grading minutes trying to find something positive to say, and in the end that positive feedback is disingenuous and I doubt it’s very meaningful as such. But I am constantly hearing that we must provide positive feedback and not make the students “feel bad.” What is your approach?

1.5 YOE as a FA, 1 YOE as AVP FA of a branch, and 1 YOE as an AVP internal product specialist on the performance team. Large brokerage firm all 3.5 yeara. BBA in finance, CRPC. If so, what should i be looking for?

Is Operating Team vs. Investment Team comp and salary progression (base+bonus+carry) similar or very different? And do operators also get carry or is that typically just for investors? Interested in Associate recruiting in PE, have both diligence and ops experience, just want to factor in pay / growth / exit ops in deciding which path to take.

Any tips for the 30 min PE case studies? I’ve had trouble finding the balance between asking more qualitatively about the company so as to understand its competitive landscape etc to inform assumptions and just straight up asking for numbers. I guess if the goal is to build a LBO, what are okay questions to ask without just appearing straight up asking as if you aren’t thinking about it? E.g. is this company capital intensive? Vs. historically, what % of sales is spent on capex?
