Anyone interested in being a mentor of sorts? I currently don’t have one + feel could be very beneficial. I am new to the broadly syndicated loan IR team at my firm. Slowly expanding my knowledge into the direct lending and CLO sphere; so much to learn! Age — 27. Location — NYC. Main goal — learn about the business and push myself to make the right career choices early on.

I have worked as a Marketing Coordinator in the past. I am now 7 years out of the job market and trying to get back on track with my career, I am about to turn 30. :( * Immigrant here.

I recently just completed a 1 year volunteer internship for a non profit as a Social Media Coordinator. I love Marketing in general and honestly at this point would be happy with any opportunity I get, but, I have a desire to work with Event Marketing.

What advice would you give me?

Should you go to Top 3 ranking law schools with minimal scholarships (that takes care of your food bill 45k for 3 years) or go to Top 15 ranking school which takes care your fee (180K) the goal after completion is to do 2 years of federal clerkship and move to big law specializing in IP or Corporate law.

Lots of digital coming to PMs that might have not had to deal with it in the past. Fast changing industry too. Where do you find the latest spec updates and news for digital?

How do you guys celebrate your bdays? Turning 35, don’t have friends nearby as I have been moving with husband since I was 25. Have a 3yo, so just 3 of us are a tight family. I want to feel good and do something that might be really nice and celebratory. Usually we get a cake and cut it between the three of us. It’s also on Christmas Day which is complex as not many things are open outside and want to celebrate Christmas home with my LO.

Is the blazer / slack (or suit, no tie) combo for men going to be considered out dated in the office or still a great look?
