1. Buy a BP monitor.
2. Follow low sodium diet, stay hydrated, increase physical activity, quit smoking, reduce alcohol intake. If your levels are too high, consult a doctor.

For 1, you can just straight up buy a BP monitor from your local drugstore/Amazon. They aren’t all that expensive and my doc recommended I just have one lying around.

For 2? Uh, I don’t know lol

So wrist based monitors are highly inaccurate. Get one from your local pharmacy with a correctly sized inflatable cuff for you. If it's too small it's likely to have inaccuracies in the reading.

This isn't something you need from a wearable tbh - you don't need a constant monitor on it.

Blood pressure monitoring should be periodical or occasional one and I don’t feel you need to monitor my levels every minute. It can easily mess with your head and make you more anxious and further cause the pressure to raise 😄

Yup. Exactly.

Meditate, take turmeric and ashwaganda supplements, cut back on alcohol and caffeine. Get about 45 minutes of exercise in a day

For 1), Apple Watch does that ( but check first if the feature is available in your region)
For 2), depends on why your BP is high, they usually recommend lowering sodium intake

Sorry not an Apple Watch, à BP monitor, there are those that sync up data with your phone so you can keep track and share with your doctor

I have a Apple Watch series 7, it doesn’t do it at the moment, I think the next series will. At the moment I just use a digital monitor that can be purchased from Amazon as others have said.

I went on low sodium, no alcohol, low caffeine and low sugar diet. Also 30-45 min of cardio everyday. My BP has been controlled. I use a omicron BP device. I measure twice a week. In the mornings before my cup of half caffeinated coffee.

Have you seen a doctor? Blood pressure is serious stuff. My spouse had high BP for years and ultimately a heart attack. Not trying to scare you, but, please see a doctor, get meds, and nothing works like rest, sleep, exercise.

Thanks, yes, saw a doctor. I am on meds but would like to make sure I am doing everything else possible to manage risks (eg heart attack).

I quit my job in May due to burnout and I'm not sure what my next career move is yet. To pay the rent while I'm figuring things out, I'm considering taking on short term doc review projects. Has anyone used doc review as a primary source of income, and, if so, did you find it was viable in the short term (or long term)?

Hi community, I finally came here for some words of wisdom from y'all.

Offer: 160TC, SDE, 200 Engineers
Current: 120TC, SDE, 4K Engineers
Benefits are about the same.

I have switched jobs 2 times in the past two years. This switch will mark it 3. I like the current work I do and my manager. By taking the offer, I sense there will be a tilt in my WLB as it’s a smaller company. They also use Elixr instead of Python which I’m familiar with.

What are your thoughts? Is the 33% salary worth it??
