Had a friend last week get made fun of on the blue line for reading. He was told and I quote “only guys with small hands read books you lil bitch”. So yeah I’d say it’s back to status quo.

Thanks all. I know it’s a bit of a silly question. But felt like it was worth asking, since the local news lately mentioned the doubling up of security guards on the red and blue lines.
That’s because all the 14 year olds get out at the Jackson stop to shoot each other
I take the blue line all the time. Id say it’s the areas around east Garfield park, Cicero etc with random incidents. But that’s just in general not a blue line thing.
I've started commuting in from oak park recently, and while it's been a bit unpleasant(a lot of smoking, a handful of obviously soiled homeless folk) it's felt safe to me
The blue line is by far the shadiest
Reliable is relative, but even the buses have been a hot mess. When there isn’t much snow I have been walking 35 minutes rather than taking the blue line (20 min trip door to door) because it is grosser than before and there always seems to be somebody smoking now.
