BMW 5 Series or Audi A6?

Looking to lease a new one and I realize that BMW lease deals are better. But any insights on the performance and overall driving experience between the two cars?

If you go for a 5, get a 540i or m550i. The 530i is underpowered imo.

BMW 5 is significantly better but older. (New version is likely to come within 3 years) Audi A6 is newer but bland, touch controls for the AC is complicated and dangerous(have to look away from the road to change) Mercedes E just got refreshed you might want to consider that one too.

Yep! But disagree with the MB.. it seems bland to me too.

I have an 2018 A6. Get a 540 if you like to drive spirited

*M550, fixed that for you 😏

Depending on where you live, if you are somewhere in the south I would go for a rear-wheel drive BMW and if it's north I would go for an Audi

Haven’t driven a 5 series but I have an older A6 (2010 with 175k miles) . Amazing performance but not very flashy or super exciting to drive. It’s really fast but doesn’t make you smile ear to ear like an AMG will. I love the design of the new A6s compared to mine which is very round in shape compared to the new aggressive style Audi is doing

like

A6, all wheel drive is a huge plus in my opinion

Whats the lease deal like?

I haven’t ever been in an A6, much less driven one, but IMO the 5series and the A6 aren’t even in the same conversation aesthetically

Making a lot of money relative to the average but feeling poor? Median after-tax income was ~$55,000 in 1981 and was ~$73,000 in 2020. Using a Bank of Canada inflation calculator $55,000 in 1981 is equivalent to ~$165,000 today, which would put someone in the top 10% of earners today. But in 1981 the median family had that extra money. Who can I blame?

I went client side and am miserable - it’s madness on this side. Have made it 90 days and would prefer not to make it more than 120 - but we’re in a pandemic. Half of the problem is that I “onboarded” remote and the onboarding was TERRIBLE. The other thing is that there is no process and I’m on a team full of managers who have spent 15 years at this company and have no availability to talk to me with a day full of meetings. I’d prefer not to quit without a backup but I cry every day.

Some cars you dreamed about when you were younger that when you got to the age where you could drive one, you realized, man, I’d rather be in something else! I tried getting to an Aventador a few years ago when my M5 was being serviced and I realized I was too bulky to get in. When I was looking for. Y current daily driver, I thought about leasing an Alfa Romeo, it again, too bulky to get in. I looked into getting a C6 Corvette before, and then realized that driving one would kill my back.

Thinking about buying a used luxury vehicle (BMW 4 series, Jaguar XF, Audi, etc), target $30K-$35K, less than 20K miles, and <3 years old. Any suggestions about target models? I don’t like the idea of buying new because of the premium/immediate depreciation, and leasing feels restrictive. Is this a bad idea?

Just saw that. Not a big fan of the LF Coupe but would definitely go with a silver Aperta if I could.
