Book recommendations for using my 3 audible credits? Prefer narrators who aren’t dryer than the Sahara. Would like something business/ consulting related if exists. Also enjoy nonfiction, sci Fi and fantasy

Yeah, it's written like a Malcom Gladwell pop-econ book which was apparently enough for it to be my vacation read.

This is an obvious one everyone knows, but The Subtle Art of not Giving a F*ck is a great listen

Can’t Hurt Me - David Goggins

Deep Work by Cal Newport

The Graveyard Book - Neil Gaiman

I remember all of the Michael Lewis books were pretty good. I usually prefer the ones where the author is the narrator, Tony Robbins, Kevin Hart, etc. But came here just to share that you should get the Libby app. Free audiobooks forever!

Check out born a crime by trevor noah. narrated by trevor. Fantasy fiction - mistborn and wheel of time if you can get through a mammoth 14 book series.

Would you say summaries are as effective for self help books like "the subtle art of giving a fk" and other similar books? I feel the books themselves ramble on too much on a side story only to tell a point that could be summed up in a couple sentences. Or am I just not getting good book recommendations for growth/development on mental well being and productivity

Book recommendations threads! Include title with a brief summary: ‘The Philosopher and the Wolf’ by Mark Rowlands. A book about connections beyond humans. Not just with animals, but the world. He does a phenomenal job of wrapping philosophical thoughts and theories into every day life. Highly recommend for those who love the outdoors, have a dog, or want a new outlook on life.

Book recommendations? I come from non-Union/low budget line producing but I’m now working for a “real agency”. I’m looking to learn more about SAG processes, working with vendors, bidding process, etc. I know most of this knowledges will come from actually working on projects but I’m curious if there are any good resources out there.

My wife and I would like to retire at age 50 (or earlier). We’re in our early 30s. We’ve been maxing out 401ks and IRAs for years and started contributing 20k a year into a taxable account to start filling the gap since we can’t access 401k until 55. At what point should we be reducing 401k/IRAs and redirecting to the taxable account? Otherwise our income balloons late in life. Curious how others are managing this.
