How do you ask for points?

Usually infants are a % of the full fare when paying with points. This certainly isn’t new, not sure if there are workarounds. Might be worth asking in the appropriate airline’s forum over on Flyertalk if no leads here.
Depends on the loyalty program. I've read on TPG that certain programs such as Aeroplan are much more reasonable than others.
Yes, percentage of fare depending on airline and location... probably better off seeing if there’s an economy seat for the lap child.
Is the kid going to sit there alone? Lap child means like under 5 right lol
Yup, it’s 10% of the retail cost for tax reasons.
Maybe it’s because they want to discourage infants in first class? Granted I do not have kids and I imagine it’s tough but I was in first class on a 10 hour flight recently with an infant across from me that cried for a solid 4 hours through the night. Other passengers were getting visibly upset about it and put the flight attendants and family in an uncomfortable situation
That’s not it at all
