I live in ATL and would never do that short of a turnaround - minimum an hour is what I’d book. Could take 15-20 mins just to deplane (assuming you don’t have status on Delta) , plus up to 15 mins to change gates if you’re arrive on Concourse T and leave out of E.
Should be ok if you aren't delayed, but it would be very close. It is a big airport and you won't know your way. I would see if I can find a longer layover.
Thanks all, I went with the other option. Will get in much later but worth it...I'm a high anxiety person so not a good risk to take. Appreciate the advice! 🙏
In the same terminal you should be okay; however, if there are any delays you’re in trouble. I fly delta and through ATL every week and I’d say 90% of the time you’d be fine. If you can be in first class to get off the plane first that would be better.
I've connected through Atlanta a lot - would never do a 34 minute layover. They start boarding 30-40 mins ahead of flight time. Even if you make it, you'd struggle to find space for your luggage, etc.
Plenty of time assuming no delays. Even if terminal changes the trains pretty quick
Depends if you are a person who likes to take risks…and whether the risk of missing the connection would impact you in a meaningful way.
ATL is my home airport.. consider the time it would take to get off the plane (10-15 min) and the fact that if they try to close boarding doors 10-15 min before departure. I personally think it’s on the short side.
What time is the flight? In the afternoon, especially with thunderstorms, there’s a bigger chance of delay.
On the shorter side but doable. Get off the plane as soon as it lands
That’s tight… if there’s even traffic getting your plane to the gate… you’re screwed, or if you’re at the back of the plane, you’re screwed as well
Risky, esp if you are connecting from a tiny plant and have to gate check your bag and wait for it at the top of the jetway in ATL before running to your connecting flight
Be prepared to run. You may get lucky. It’s a fun adventure we’ve all been there.
Be ready to run to your next flight.

Lot of assumptions baked in there, and gates often change closer in to the flight or even day of. Your connecting flight will start boarding as you land, even assuming you arrive on time. If you’re not in first, it’s going to be tight.
Not enough time.
Delta has spoken.
