Can’t go wrong. If you get into both pick based on neighborhood and people you meet. They’re effectively substitutes for eachother.
Some will say if you want to go to Banking go to Booth, but from what I saw most banks also recruit at Kellogg but the competition is less intense. Consulting is probably a wash. Tech a wash.
Networks both strong. With Northwestern you get a new team to root for. Revealing my biases a bit but really both are excellent.
It depends
Expect nothing less from a fellow Deloitter
All these responses are focused on jobs. really need to factor in the network and the experience. For that, Kellogg is way better. Have some fun. Go to Kellogg
Pro
Booth explicitly supports freedom of expression and allows debate on issues. I view that a plus!
Implicit support is not sufficient apparently
HULT!
In addition to what everyone else has said... I wanted to add a few more points as a Kellogg alum. 1) Booth has stronger brand internationally, especially in Asia. Some of this is historical and Kellogg is catching up, but the gap is still there. 2) Kellogg is very welcoming to MBA with families, and have this amazing “JV” policy that allows your significant other to audit Kellogg classes for free(without degree certification obviously). 3) i feel like cohort experiences at Kellogg is better organized and developed, and Booth is still experimenting.
Whichever program gives you the most $$. The outcomes are so similar that focusing on a lower price is a good way to look at things.
I’d say the factors you’d want to consider
1. What career are you aiming for post b school?
2. What kind of actual development you seek vs. brand/high power network.
Generally Booth >> Kellogg for finance, Kellogg >> Booth in mktg and associated industries. Most others are a wash, they’re equally good/bad at Tech which is often cited as a big recruitment gap.
Booth curriculum is more analytical, Kellogg is more general managementy. The people the programs attract reflect this style.
Brand, reputation and network, both are great. There isn’t a wrong choice here, but a better fit than anything else.
Kellogg obviously
Rising Star
Kellogg
Your experience will be more a function of you than of the school. You can carve out similar experiences and outcomes at both. Booth social life is more city oriented, Kellogg more campus oriented. Great people at both.
Pro
If you want to do CPG, Kellogg is where to go.
This is a very 1995 statement.
Clearly biased here, but I had to make the same decision. I ultimately based it on the people you meet at each program and in what environment you think you will grow and thrive the most. Your outcomes and opportunities will be extremely similar, it’s more about what environment will allow you to be yourself and grow to make it where you want to go.

The power MBA
Booth. Flexibility toward your passion areas with profs who are more than just academics.
Consulting = Tie
Finance = Booth
Tech = Kellogg
Other industry = Kellogg
None. Just work your ass off and pass the guys who got MBAs.
If you want the easy A, less challenging program to “have more fun”, go to Kellogg. If you want to be challenged, go to Booth.
Booth. Maybe I’m biased. Got accepted to both schools.
Waste of money
