Has anyone moved from Accenture Federal to CGI Federal at Manager/Senior Manager level? Looking at Strategy/Organizational Change Management roles, and curious to know if you feel that compensation and benefits were worth it when measured against your actual experience once you started working with CGI. (I understand that some of it depends on the account you're on, the team you have, etc., just trying to decide if it's worth considering.) Thanks!

No defined criteria, but typically requires capture/growing large business portfolios, managing multiple teams and fostering key internal firm and external client relationships.
Or work in the CTO's office (what's left of the SIG) and be slightly above average.
Key thing is make sure youāre in a growing team. Iām on a shrinking team with no new work and too many SAās as it is. Trying to figure out my next move in a firm where I fit in less and less every day. I love it in so many ways, but there is just so much change lately.
Another key attribute at BAH is to be in a role or field that the firm views as a ākey service lineā and is actively pushing for growth. Iāll never get higher than LA because Iām in a āunicornā role that has almost no potential for growth at Booz. Thereās almost no attention paid to it and I spend a ton of time trying to help people write RFP responses when the RFPs call for this skill set, because Booz doesnāt have an active bench of people who do what I do (not saying what it is because I prefer to remain as anonymous as possibleā¦itās non-technical, though).
BAH alum here - typically, promotion to SA has many variables as mentioned by others, but the biggest challenge is getting support from senior leadership to reorg the structure to have you manage about a dozen people under your org tree unless someone just left the post.
Totally depends on admin pyramid, role, and politicsā¦there are some roles that will never be seen as a natural fit for SA promotion, and unless youāre highly technical, business development is always going to be the key driver of promotions to SA.
Itās mostly politics. Politics and timing
Honestly promotion to the SA level has less to do with performance, leading a team, and building business, then it does being in the right place at the right time and having leadership advocacy in place above you. She needs to get her name out there with people well above her level and be viewed as someone that is an asset, is indispensable, and is worthy of promoting. Without that her future will likely remain as a LA. Not that that is a bad thing. I know LA that clear 200k annuallyā¦depends on what she is looking for.
Being in the right place at the right time is definitely ONE way to get promoted. I've know a couple of SAs who didn't even know that they were going to be promoted. Their SA became a PRN and they were magically promoted!
However, that is rare and not the normal path. It's having advocates, a business case and timing
Business case, people leadership, client and firm relationships, politics, timing.
