Booz Allen Hamilton rescinded my offer because my current firm will not waive the non-compete clause in our employee agreement. It was allegedly a capability hire, and not tied to a particular project.

I work one level above entry level, and really shouldn’t even have such a restrictive non-compete.

I’ve already resigned, and would prefer to be unemployed rather than continue working here.

It probably wouldn’t be held up in court, but it’s not worth the risk for Booz which is why they’re taking a pass. Keep searching for employers who aren’t conflicted with your current contract, and don’t agree to such binding terms in the future.

Wait a second, you have 3 YOE total and they didn’t waive a non-compete?

My husband works in military health as well as a civilian for DOD (PhD but most everyone else is MPH). Have you considered just applying directly instead of doing contracting? I work for DT as well, they are lawyered up so it might get expensive.

I have a few contacts who work there! Thinking about it. It’s even more of a direct competitor than Booz Allen is though, so I’m still worried about the non-compete.

Many are wondering what’s wrong with ClearView. The problem is straightforward, if the way ClearView is organizing a project such that when one analyst or senior analyst (22 to 24 year old) fails at something, stakes are high enough that an project’s fate depends on it, then ClearView is putting way too much responsibility on its Junior staff, not promoting and severely underpaying them. Maybe it’s time ClearView brought in a consulting firm to ease its org problems

I’m new to this startup and was leading a cross functional project involving several other product teams with dependencies. When we got near the end with E2E testing, I realized that none of the product teams really do QA: no test scripts, not logs of dev unit testing, no documentation of testing cycles – there devs asked “what do we do about edge cases?” I raised this to my boss (since I don’t manage those other teams) and he said I’m creating unnecessary stress for the teams. Is he right?

The level of shock and anger I’m seeing on my LinkedIn regarding the Twitter layoffs is puzzling. While unfortunate, didn’t we all know this was coming for months? They also get paid / benefits for 4mos + severance (correct me if I’m wrong). And it’s also only like a few thousand people at a tech company. I feel like they have a far better set up for recovery than others who have been laid off already where we all just moved on after seeing the headline. Thoughts?
