Is it better to take out a personal loan for credit card debt vs a debt consolidation? I decided to do a personal loan with a bank I already have a mortgage with. I did 16% for three years vs having multiple credit cards with 25% interest. The loan covers two of my four credit cards. But a friend said I could’ve gotten a better deal with debt consolidation bc they have relationships with credit card companies.

Curious about net worth milestones. How long did it take you to go from 100k - 1m? What was your “story” (income/savings rate/asset allocation)? I realize many probably achieved this in the bull market we’ve been in, but still curious.

Hi, I know this isn't the place to seek tax advice. I haven't sold a car so this doesn't apply to me just yet, but was curious on the overall topic and people's experiences if they've dealt with this.
If I bought a car and sold it for less than the initial purchase price, would I pay taxes on the difference between the sale price and cost basis? If so how would I determine my basis in such a rapidly depreciating asset? Trying to decide if selling is worth the potential hassle. TIA

I think I’ve achieved lifestyle deflation. It kind of sucked at first but you get used to it.

likeuplifting

Don’t feel like I should invest the max in my 401k to be honest as I’m young (26) and plan on retiring no later than 45-50 years old which I would need money in a non retirement account to live off a bit apart from my rental properties (only have 1 for now)
