What is the best exit from consulting if you are the breadwinner and your spouse has medical issues? I feel trapped by medical insurance requirements.
Freelance creatives, how do you get medical/dental/vision coverage (assuming you don't rely on a partner for coverage)? Or do you pay for everything out of pocket? Clearly I am new to this. Help!
I’m so sick of teachers making excuses for not getting vaccinated. I got this lovely reply from a teacher in Washington because I support a mandate. I am almost positive this was the same person who claimed they had a religious exemption which I called BS on. I reported and blocked her ass. I should find another profession? Hell no, I’m in a high need field and rated highly effective.
Our 5 month old started daycare about 5 weeks ago. We’ve already had to keep her home for 2.5 of those 5 weeks due to catching various illnesses (croup, rsv, brinchiolitis, etc). Both my wife and I have been sick most of that time as well (gotten it from the baby). Wife is thinking we get a full time nanny for the next 4 months to help the baby build antibodies. Cost aside, is this feasible / worthwhile to go thru the effort / finding the right fit, only for 4 months?
I finally got round to taking that second dose of the Pfizer Vaccine and God .......what an interesting experience...the chills the next day had me thinking I was actually sick. How rough was the second dose for you? ( First dose early December 2021 and Second 20 January 2022) PS: To those asking why I took long to take the vaccine...I relocated to another country in the middle of the pandemic and could not get the vaccine for free until I become a resident.
I am a special education aide in a structured self-contained classroom. Toileting and hygiene puts me at greater risk. I am symptomatic but have used up all my sick days. Is anyone’s admin showing grace in the number of paid sick days or are you docked when your sick days run out? This is why I am inclined to go to school regardless. We don’t have a union.
The toughest part of my day is leaving my baby in someone else's care when he is sick. Balance it's such a unicorn. I am considering a LOA just to spend more time with my baby. I feel so guilty.
My school deliberately cut the number of classes that the specials teachers teach so that we could be building subs for quarantined and sick teachers (we are hybrid). So... I teach fewer classes (which is a relief because specials teachers teach way more classes than core teachers normally) but I'm pulled for most of my planning periods to babysit classes. I need my planning periods so I can redo my ENTIRE curriculum... and I just feel unappreciated, used, and nothing more than a babysitter.
New mom here - ways to overcome/cope the guilt of missing work when kid is sick or missing baby when baby is sick and focusing on work ?
If this ain’t sick funk than my brain needs major calibration. https://youtu.be/md9veYbl7wI
I haven't taken a single vacation or sick day in over a year. I'll lateraling to another firm next month (pending conflicts). Would it be in poor taste schedule a vacation prior to giving my two weeks notice? I love my group and I don't want to burn bridges.
Why do I feel bad about taking a personal day when I'm sick? Is that normal outside of this profession to feel bad?
What are the employee benefits at mphasis ? Could you please let me know Are there free transport , 100% company sponsored medical health insurance for self, sponsored certifications, leaves etc ?
Hi All, I just had a egg retrieval this morning. All went smooth. But last retrieval round I got very sick day 3-4 days after (constipation, fluid in belly, extreme abdomen discomfort, etc.) I’ve bought some milk of magnesia to help but wanted to check in with you all for tips. Any food recommendations? I hear varying opinions of what’s bests so I’d love to hear what worked directly for you.
Question about the disability section on job applications. I go back and forth on whether to put “yes” even though the condition I have (Crohn’s) is specifically called out. I don’t see myself as having a disability and don’t think I’ll need accommodations. Is there any downside to answering yes?
Can anyone that has taken disability leave because of stress/anxiety/depression share their story? I came back from the doctor and they strongly advised I take one and I’m looking for some hope.
Hey guys! Went to college with full intention of getting into medical school. Graduated right before the pandemic which gave time to think long and hard about going to med school. Decided I was doing it for all the wrong reasons, and am trying to pivot into consulting. I’ve reached out to hundreds on LinkedIn, which lead to a few referrals, but have heard nothing back from any firms. Anyone willing to help me out with some advice and guidance?
I have an amazing friend looking for a roommate in Toronto. Kind, super chill and clean, professional, fun, 34F South Asian. If you have any leads, please let me know!
Anyone ever worked for Randstad? I have an interview tomorrow for an account manager position for the IT market. Curious to hear all thoughts.
What are the best job boards ?
New United status qualifying rules for 2020. It’s by dollars not miles... should really benefit most consultants given the high price of business trip airfare. Bottom line.. spend $24k to get 1K https://mileageplusupdates.com/mileageplus/english/qualification

Pregnant with my third child now and wondering what is the right time to tell work. I did it really early with my first two because I wanted to plan ahead, but now thinking about it, I feel like it just set me up for failure those years because I was reassigned from tasks and kept underutilized.
Took my 2 year old daughter to the dentist and she found 4 cavities. We’ve been teaching her to brush her teeth before bed & after meals(unsuccessfully) so far. She’s needs sdf treatment according to the dentist, any suggestions on how to move after the treatment as it leaves black coverage on the teeth. (She’s too young for crowns and what not)
Hi Folks, Anybody recently went through the H1B transfer process? How much time does it take starting from the lawyer reaching out to you and then you receiving the approval.

Hi Fishers, What can my expected CTC be for a PO role at Servicenow? My current profile is 6 years experience with 19 LPA. I have couple of offers with 23 LPA and 25 LPA.

I think key to retention today is Work Life Balance and firm's culture (barring exceptions). If an employee is treated as an equal partner (ofcors without equity😉), s(he) wont start looking out in the first place. While all seem to be talking of promoting this, very few practice. I dont think am going to ever leave Google just for sake of higher compensation. #views are personal and situational.
Loaded up on some LTC and ETH today
