What about the balance of pay/seniority? How many of the females are ACD or above? What about visibility and involvement? Who goes to pitches, meets with clients, has visibility to your boss, etc. Inclusion is the first step, representation is what matters most.
There are more genders than traditional male/female.
My agency is 3/4 female and they continue to push for more gender diversity. Not sure what that means.
CCO and 1/4 of senior creatives are female. Most of account leadership is female as are the executive team. More female copywriters than art directors.
As a girl, I notice more females in lower creative roles, with fewer of us sitting in leadership meetings. I understand that balance needs to be more equal, but I feel like as a creative you need a more hard and joking personality that seems to be less common in women... I wonder if we spend a lot of energy self censoring and doing ourselves a disservice while males rise up being ballsy and demanding. There may be equality in numbers but certainly not in levels.
I’m a woman and have been called scary, aggressive, angry, and a number of things. Not because it’s true, but because I’m a woman. I’ve seen and heard men be all of those those things in the workplace but they don’t get called on it and in fact are considered good at their job, yet I get reprimanded for my “tone”.
All that to say damned if you do, damned if you don’t. I’ve stopped listening to the noise and stopped trying to soften my approach to fit some weird idea of what women should be like. As a female producer there’s a special expectation that we mother to a certain degree which drives me nuts. Just let me do my job and don’t ask me to get you coffee.
As a man, I feel like a under-represented minority in Account Management.
i mean blame the patriarchy
Are most of the women in junior roles and most of the men in Senior?
If you did a gender % split on “ power/ authority” vs just headcount, what does that show?
At agency level, for example: many woman in HR, finance/accounting, administration, junior operations. So it may look 50/50 in just headcount. But much less so in roles of authority and leadership (outside of HR/finance where there is more frequently female leadership than in other areas)
Diversity is not just gender-based.
Here’s a crazy thought. Ask them what they mean. Maybe then the specific goals will be clear.
That’s the plan. Gonna be awkward
OP: what are the titles of the 12 males and titles of the 10 women?
No. Ecd male. CDs/leads evenly split. Rest of dept even split.
If your boss is a male he is probably trying to protect his own job.
She is female
