I’ve enjoyed most my projects but we have many more lines of business and practice areas so the answer to “what will I get staffed on” is “it depends.” If you like where you are and the work then you should stay. Anyone at BCG (or any MBB) who promises you’ll only do X projects, is lying. There is a lot of strategy work, but we are too big to not do implementation or ops work and you won’t be able to avoid them in staffing

Haha deal - I still remember McK telling me that nobody works past 9pm...

Yes. Period. I wouldn’t even hesitate.
And btw, if you want mostly strategy/diligences and less implementation, let me introduce you to something we call the Ringfence. You’ll feel at home…
Thanks for the input!

Yes, absolutely. You’ll find the Associates and Consultants at BCG are primarily responsible for driving their analysis, developing the work plan and leading client meetings.
You should 100% make the switch.
I worked at both - you can PM me. Short answer is yes, projects to me are more interesting now on average
I've never worked at BCG, but you would be nuts to choose LEK over BCG.
Joined as an EH in NAMR, happy to chat if helpful. Very happy with the move. The above is all pretty accurate. Only nuance I’ll add is that I’ve found it honestly quite easy to get staffed on what you want (by in large). People don’t want people who hate their project / practice area on their team. And, if you are a good performer, then you typically have a decent number of options when you for staffing. I’ve done exclusively diligence for PE & growth strategy since joining (possible at my firm too). Will be leaving for PE soon (not as easy at my old firm).
