Bought an investment property for short term rentals near Disney and the current owner wants to rent it back for possibly the entire summer. How much should I charge the owner? 3br/3ba condo.

In line with comparable rentals nearby?

I would charge them mortgage+interest+maintenance+$100 in rent to keep it cash flowing. Long term tenants are less overhead and you won’t have to pay someone to find tenants (assuming they pass the background check and all that stuff).

It’s ok to do so. Be fair n help her out if possible. Saw a friend do the same thing. His previous owner was buying another property to sell this one. My friends offer was accepted but the owners property deal fell thru. So my friend let the owner stay for 3 more months n the previous owner paid over market rent for the property to stay.

Confused. If you bought it, aren’t you the owner?

Market, with a no short-term/sublet policy. I personally wouldn’t do this. The timing of it is a bit odd. IMO it’d be better to do your own short term or get a longer-term renter.

If you feel you paid her a fair price for the property I would not feel bad. Just offer a reasonable rate that works for you.

Would love to learn more about this. We visit Disney often and not being able to afford in NY, I’ve often considered buying in a neighborhood down there and renting out part of the time, then vacationing down there a few times a year

What would you like to know? There are short term and long term rentals. You can use a property management company to make it easy.

I’ve got an interview as a mid level lawyer in a large multinational FMCG company. The head of legal in our jurisdiction appears to actually have less legal experience (not judging, and don’t think that necessarily makes me a better lawyer). Just wondering if this is a red flag from a learning perspective? Will I be stunted working under someone with less experience?
