Current CTC - 8.XX LPA. Ask is around 16-17 LPA. Is it advisable?
I have been working as an APIGEE developer and am the application support lead. Been in tcs for over 1.5 years, I got calls from Cognizant, Amazon and Deloitte for similar role. Unsure what my ask should be. I definitely don't want to settle for less than 12 LPA, but market seems lucrative and rewarding right now, so I wonder if I should high ball this?

Liu is Chinese American as a matter of fact. You have your right to boycott, but this is exactly like the whole NBA thing. Chinese companies refused to sponsor NBA stuff because some NBA owners/players support HK protesters. Then people condemn the Chinese companies for not tolerating freedom of speech. Boycotting Mulan for Liu’s opinion is exactly the same. Just want to say that

LOL - Liu is the most marginal Chinese-American ever and doesn’t identify as such. She has spent the vast majority of her life in China, including her entire acting career, is a recognized actress in China, and did the minimum time to become a US citizen. Not that this has anything to do with citizenship.
The major problem is Disney kowtowing to Chinese government authorities and “sanitizing” entire casts and storylines in order to be acceptable to Chinese censors. Disney found the most Chinese “Chinese-American” they could so that they could claim it is led by a Chinese-American. They actively selected a cast that would side with Chinese authorities.
It’s your right to say and do so, but you can’t deny the fact that the violence are caused by dangerous protesters. They set fire, broke windows, attacked police, crashed the HK’s social and economic environment. Do you know one protester bit off part of a policeman’s finger? Do you see the video of protesters setting fire on an old man who hold different perspectives? It’s not the police brutality.

Yeah, and allow western forces to begin dismantling China one bit at a time? That’s exactly what they want, for protesters to break the city down a begin a civil discourse. Protester are literally splashing gasoline on citizen bystanders and lighting people up for disagreeing with the movement. For those not at ground zero, it’s easy to say “I support the hk protests” because you’re not impacted by the consequences
Also, it’s not like she can just openly support HK, even if she gets away with it, her family will be under scrutiny/punished for dissent...

Yeah, boycott an American made movie with a primarily American cast and crew to stick it to the CCP. Over one actor. Makes total sense.

Actually the cast is primarily CHINESE, not Asian American. And Disney molded this movie to please Chinese censors and removed plots/references in the old movie that were sensitive.
- Instead of being a regular woman pretending to be a man, Mulan now has superpowers
- Instead of Mulan being an only child and the psychological/physical burden of it (too close to the One Child Policy), she now has a sibling
- No ancestors and Mushu because that’s too religious and traditional Chinese culture.
Boycotting mulan is boycotting FEMINISM because THAT is what the movie represents

Feminism is what the original animated Mulan represents.
Mulan in the original was an ordinary woman who proved she could fight as well as any man.
Mulan in the new movie can only fight so well because she has superpowers.
