How early will firms hire laterals? Currently a 1st year at Vault 5 firm (keeping it vague). My firms cultural is extremely toxic (0 mentorship opportunities, very low diversity, condescending associates, taboo to ask questions, etc.) - I know I don’t want to stay here long term so want to go somewhere else where I can start growing a network/reputation instead of wasting time here…

I joined TCS 1.5 years back only in Oct20 as an Asso Consutlt (C3B).
in Jan22, I appeared for Tech Mah interview process and got selected as a Project Manager position, they have offered me 40% hike.

Currently I am on notice period, resigned from TCS last month but still not very convinced with my decision there is still a 2nd thought like whether should I join TechM (obviously bcoz of leaving TCS and its facilities, job security and no hire back policy).

What do you do with a senior manager who seemed lost all the time? Granted he is new in the engagement - we both are. We talked through things a couple of times but he does not seem to understand it and keeps on asking about the same things. Does not know what is happening on the file or does not seem to care to learn about it. Would only know about things that come through his emails, and would only care where things are at when we are reporting to the partner.
