I was not at the meeting on Tuesday, but my why item is a graduation invitation that came from a student that I mentored when I was in high school! My why is because I want to be the person that I needed when I was younger! 💚
Carrissa-My "why" item was picturs of previous students. Being able to see the growth in the students I've had, whether it's emotional, behaviorally,and/or academically and hoping that maybe just one thing I did or said contributed to that growth.
Hunt- I brought a picture made from a past student I encouraged to pursue her passion.
I love watching students have their “a-ha” moments. Those the moments that remind me of why I became a teacher, to help grow their minds and help make a difference!!! I brought a light bulb as a symbol of those moments.

I brought a light bulb for the aha moments and God. He is always with me and the ONLY thing besides these kiddos that could get me to come back everyday! 🤣
God definitely gets all the credit for this one! I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was little. I was the first out of my family to go to college and education was it from the start! I have a great love for children and the impact I can make in each of their lives! 💕

My “why” is a sign that hangs in my office to remind me “Every child is a story yet to be told”. I absolutely love the chance we have as educators to see the growth and changes in children as they grow. I’m thankful that now as a principal my “why” is not only seeing students change and develop their story but also seeing it in teachers!! ❤️
My item was a small piece of candy that a student gave me in the Cash Saver parking lot. I saw her there over the break and she ran through the parking lot to give it to me. Connections like that are my “why.” I have always believed the “they don’t care what you know until they know that you care” philosophy, and things like that little piece of candy remind me that caring about kids is the most important.. and the reason I come back!
For my “why” item I brought a picture of me and a former student. My “why” is the relationships I build with students.
My “why” for continuing to stay in education is all the relationships I form with students. I love getting to know all the kids, not just the ones I have everyday.

My “why” is to encourage a lasting love for music in my students, whether or not they ever study it again formally after elementary school.
For my item I brought a sweet sign a student made me as my Christmas present one year. She had a terrible home life and didn’t have much but still managed to make the gift. My why is for students like her who just need our love and attention.

I brought my "love notes" binder. In it there are notes, cards, pictures, etc. from students, parents, and other staff members for that year. This reminds me that I am making a difference and building those relationships.
Peterson- I brought a picture of my kids. I want to give the same loving, safe, learning environment I want my own children to have.
My "WHY" is being a part of students growth academically, socially, emotionally and behaviorally
My Why was to share my love of art and to be able to teach students to find their creative side of themselves. I love to do all kinds of creative things and it pleases me for students to share with me that they like what they get to do in art and when then try to do some of the stuff shown at home.
My why: the students. I brought my class pictures from every year that I have taught. ❤️
