Broadly speaking, for a given generic consulting role, which B4 firm pays the most? Which pays the least?

This varies so much by practice that a generic firm-wide answer will not be correct. That said, here's a generic firm-wide answer as requested: Deloitte > PWC > EY > KPMG. Additionally, you may want to consider expanding your search beyond the Big Four - there are many other respected consulting firms out there, some of which even pay more than audit firms that happen to have consulting branches! 🙃

Do you want me to tell you that the firm you are working at makes the most in general? Congrats.

I hired in at 125 post MBA, Deloitte gave most MBAs 160? I believe. Possibly 165

PwC

Lol

PwC pays the least

And the highest, depends. Based on last months hiring, for transaction services EY Tas was paying way more than any one in this tier.

OP there’s no binary answer as in firm A pays more than firm B does. There’s a number of variables in play. Not to consider the others, even for D, there are commercial vs GPS, and then within each six diff offerings and specific talent groups and sub capabilities there are large pay differences too depending on those coupled with years of experience, certification etc. You have to compare Apple with Apple. With that being said, if you are in Advisory (except for cyber) in lieu of Consulting then the other firms will on avg pay more. Good luck!

😔

Big four firms tend to benchmark comp against each other so it’s honestly a toss up

Considering looking for a new sales management role. I’ve only had “promote from within” sales manager roles where I started as an IC and continue to manage my book while selling. I’d like to make a switch and start in a management only role. Any recommendations on companies? I have 6 years of top producing IC sales experience and a little over 4 years of management experience.

How does experienced hiring (generally) work in consulting? Are there cycles similar to campus recruiting or is it year-round? Got laid off a few weeks back and the job hunt has been frustrating

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.

Newly promoted experienced hire SC making $113k, 10 YOE (switched industries). Got an offer from TCS in an Advisory practice (not the tech sweatshop stuff that I keep seeing people mention). Base salary is $190k and in TCS equivalent of a M role. Downside to taking the salary hike and boomeranging back to D in ~2 years? FYI - I have 2 kids, so that kind of pay raise is kind of a big deal.

Do you find companies today interview without empathy, over-valuing technical skill, pressure tests, and first impressions? A follow-up to this, if you’ve been hired by a company based on your skills, ability to perform under pressure, and first impression- did you feel you made the right decision once settled in your role? I’m analyzing the evolution of interviews and a human-centered approach.

Do any jobs actually require you to upload a full fledged CV? I was in the process of applying for a role at Deloitte and they have a “Resume/CV” upload section, and I’m not sure if they just mean a cover letter or detailed (lengthy) CV.

IP LAW Hi - I’m a lawyer based in the UK, and looking to improve my IP law knowledge. Has anyone done the PGDip in IP Law at Oxford? Or can anyone give any suggestions on some good courses / resources? My background is in transactional, but improving my IP law knowledge would really help with my role. Also posted in the Law bowl but thought I’d also ask the pros!

I am on H1B. When firms ask “do you require sponsorship” is the answer yes? I would require a green card at some point, but if there is an interesting role that can’t file my GC,happy to work in H1.

Want to shift from advertising strategy into a brand side marketing gig or a product design role. Thinking about getting a masters MBA or masters in industrial design to make the shift. Just got a lateral hire offer for a Sr Associate role with BCG. Contract states that I can go for Consultant promo in 12 months. I'm interpreting this as, if I don't make the promo threshold in 12 months, I'd be counseled out. Is this a reasonable assumption? Or would I get a few more months of time to work on feedback? I'm nervous - should I be? :(

Hi 🐠! Im current at EY in a consulting group that does not focus on deals, but have completed few due diligence type engagements. We focus mostly on ODD (Operational Due Diligence) for private equity firms. I really want to make it into IB. I have an interview for a Valuation and Opinions Role. Would that help in transitioning in as an IB Analyst? I would have a substantial pay cut (100K to 85K - excluding bonus). My current experience has not been seen as valuable by recruiters.
