To people who have moved from big 4 to mid size, have you found it to be easier dealing with smaller clients? Are the hours/pay better?
Considering looking for a new sales management role. I’ve only had “promote from within” sales manager roles where I started as an IC and continue to manage my book while selling. I’d like to make a switch and start in a management only role. Any recommendations on companies? I have 6 years of top producing IC sales experience and a little over 4 years of management experience.
How does experienced hiring (generally) work in consulting? Are there cycles similar to campus recruiting or is it year-round? Got laid off a few weeks back and the job hunt has been frustrating
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Newly promoted experienced hire SC making $113k, 10 YOE (switched industries). Got an offer from TCS in an Advisory practice (not the tech sweatshop stuff that I keep seeing people mention). Base salary is $190k and in TCS equivalent of a M role. Downside to taking the salary hike and boomeranging back to D in ~2 years? FYI - I have 2 kids, so that kind of pay raise is kind of a big deal.
Do you find companies today interview without empathy, over-valuing technical skill, pressure tests, and first impressions? A follow-up to this, if you’ve been hired by a company based on your skills, ability to perform under pressure, and first impression- did you feel you made the right decision once settled in your role? I’m analyzing the evolution of interviews and a human-centered approach.
Do any jobs actually require you to upload a full fledged CV? I was in the process of applying for a role at Deloitte and they have a “Resume/CV” upload section, and I’m not sure if they just mean a cover letter or detailed (lengthy) CV.
IP LAW Hi - I’m a lawyer based in the UK, and looking to improve my IP law knowledge. Has anyone done the PGDip in IP Law at Oxford? Or can anyone give any suggestions on some good courses / resources? My background is in transactional, but improving my IP law knowledge would really help with my role. Also posted in the Law bowl but thought I’d also ask the pros!
I am on H1B. When firms ask “do you require sponsorship” is the answer yes? I would require a green card at some point, but if there is an interesting role that can’t file my GC,happy to work in H1.
Is Deloitte on a hiring freeze? I see postings for their ara group but don’t know if it worth applying during the current environment.
What are hours like in B4 advisory (IT, AAS, risk mainly)? Considering west coast positions
DM for EY referral. Junior levels preferred.
Just wondering if any of Trump’s companies get accounting services from the Big 4? If so did he pay his fees? 😂
Accenture hiring for following skills Exp- 2.2 yrs to 14 yrs. Location PAN India. If interested for referral, pls share your resume at email@example.com ASAP. P.S. if already applied or interviewed in last 12 months, pls ignore. Thanks.
Got a side gig that might be impacted by independence requirements at b4. Will b4 require me to just stop what I’m doing or shut the corp down?
Want to shift from advertising strategy into a brand side marketing gig or a product design role. Thinking about getting a masters MBA or masters in industrial design to make the shift. I’m having a hard time getting companies to consider me otherwise and feel like I have quite a few skill gaps to cover. Good idea or waste of money?
Have you ever interviewed and felt you’re over qualified for a role at a company like google? How did you navigate having this conversation with the recruiting team?
Unexpectedly on the bench until next week... just booked a last minute ticket to Costa Rica for tomorrow morning! 🙌
Just got a lateral hire offer for a Sr Associate role with BCG. Contract states that I can go for Consultant promo in 12 months. I'm interpreting this as, if I don't make the promo threshold in 12 months, I'd be counseled out. Is this a reasonable assumption? Or would I get a few more months of time to work on feedback? I'm nervous - should I be? :(
Is it even possible to get HSW with a low GPA (3.3-3.5 range) if you’re an ORM guy? Even if you went to top 20 undergrad, top GMAT (780-800), good work experience (top consulting firms+FAANG)?
Airline offered $1000 this morning to take a later flight. Couldn't take it because a senior manager on my project was sitting next to the gate. 😭
I have been on my SO’s case about drinking. He is unemployed and has been laid off. He has been having drinks 3x a week. One or two glasses a session. I drink 2-3x a month. I say it is too much. He’s Irish and I’ve lived in Ireland. People binge drink the entire weekend until they fall over. Someone who comes home from work drinks one dram of whiskey every night. This is normal. Americans define this as alcoholism.Do you think this is a cultural difference or actual excessive drinking?
Preparing for Huron’s healthcare consulting associate behavioral interview. What to expect?
Introverts with admits to B schools - how are you all planning on surviving the networking events? I don’t enjoy large groups of people (>5) and am already tired of the incessant zoom calls and meetups 😭
Two colleagues have burnout and the partner has nothing else to say than „they knew the risks when they signed for the job“!!! Man im glad we are currently working remote or I would have punched that MF in the face. Does Consulting or partner level kill any sense of humanity in us? Im boiling right now🤬🤬🤬🤬 We can do better than this😓
Hi 🐠! Im current at EY in a consulting group that does not focus on deals, but have completed few due diligence type engagements. We focus mostly on ODD (Operational Due Diligence) for private equity firms. I really want to make it into IB. I have an interview for a Valuation and Opinions Role. Would that help in transitioning in as an IB Analyst? I would have a substantial pay cut (100K to 85K - excluding bonus). My current experience has not been seen as valuable by recruiters.
How do you opt out of health insurance at EY?
To the recruiter pitching a role with "work-life balance is a fallacy--" It's not the flex you think it is.
Would a company ever consider hiring down? By this I mean ...hiring a CD who wants an ACD job? If not, why not?
