Congratulations!

Neither. SP500 index funds with low cost ratios after you’ve maxed out everything else using this handy chart.

Just update for the max amounts for 2022 and include HSA if you’re on a high deductible plan before purple. Crypto and individual stocks would come after purple. Real estate is too much work in my opinion.

Honestly it's not that complicated, just takes discipline / financial responsibility.

Index funds or target retirement funds (with low expense ratios).

Max your tax advantages: 401k, IRA, etc.

Keep you spending constant and put your raises into savings. Compound interest of today's saving will grow a lot over time.

For all these beaten down growth stocks if you are thinking of buying shares would it be worth it here just to buy a leap instead of shares and let it ride. I’m sure some of these stocks will never recover so even if the leap goes to zero wouldn’t it be close to the same loss as if you had shares and it keeps dropping in the next year. See PTON, PINS, DKNG, PLTR, PYPL and V(lesser extent) etc. I haven’t done leaps before and just trying to learn how best to use it as a replacement for shares

My 16 year old just got his license. Someone was telling me to buy him an insurance friendly car (essentially nothing fancy or highly desirable for thieves) car and just insure him on that car and not on my car or my wife’s car (both of our cars I would consider premium vehicles). Any comments on this strategy or other strategy to keep insurance costs low? I’m hearing horror stories about doubling and tripling premiums from other parents.

My wife failed a tenancy referencing on the grounds of employment and pay because she is on mat leave. We have more than sufficient savings to cover rent for the whole year and yet she failed and the reason they stated is ‘we are not sure she will return back to work after X month’. Isn’t that discriminatory in nature and worth a legal fight? Worth adding she is getting full pay for 6 months, goes back to work after 8 months and the 7/8 month pay is only statutory of £650.

Not a homeowner - but looking to buy in 2-3 years. I feel like I'm saving well, but could save more pre-tax with my 401k.

Can I reasonably access 401k funds to buy a house, or should I keep just putting 10% to 401k and investing post tax money to save up a down payment?

Question for you sales and saas guys. I work for a fast growing startup and we are billing around 200 K a month. I am in charge of the sales team and our CFO mandates that we collect ACH payment information on every agreement. The problem with this is we have to reel in micro deposit amounts from customers and it feels like herding cats. I’ve worked for three great tech companies and I’ve never had ACH nor have I ever paid for services with ACH. Is this a totally dated process?
