Deloitte question. I have always gotten a raise each year, the only question I ask is how much of a raise do I get. But I’m hearing from former Deloitte folks, it is naive to expect annual raises each year however small/big they are? And how does this play in Deloitte consulting vs advisory? Do one tend to withhold annual raises in base salary over the other, or is this just a deloitte culture thing? Looking at exit opportunities all over. So lmk! I’d Rather get a small raise than none at all.

♥️ You’re not alone. Are you considering unpaid leave? Might be the best way to ride this out.
No I think there is also the element of I am done with the work I am doing and would like to do something else
I feel you. Similar boat... I don’t have much to offer in terms of solutions. Good luck with your decision, whatever it may be!
Start a side gig? Work on your own schedule, i.e. drop the hours and pay for starters I guess. This virus has definitely opened my eyes to how much I value flexibility
Yes, since before I started “real work” in consulting. Depends on your interests. I used to be a freelance digital marketing person. Now I have a career strategy and job hunting gig.
Based on firm you’re at, maybe explore the option of a sabbatical / family leave? I know deloitte offers 4 weeks of unpaid family leave at any point if required, with very few questions asked. Hopefully your firm offers something similar that gives you a chance to disconnect for a bit
Same boat. I feel you. It is the worst combination to be burned out, growing responsibilities, small kids to care for and no time to recover. Just add health problems to the mix, it gets worse. Your well-being is what you and your family runs on. Take a break now and work hard later when you are better prepared. I am considering Fridays off or one week vacation next month just to be home. Job is only a means to live and it is not life.
Anyone else did something similar, how has stepping out to re-calibrate been ? Was it worth it ? I know these are interesting times . But I just cannot take it any longer , I rather move to be doing something that has better wlb even if means taking 20% pay cut
