From what I’ve seen, it appears that Asian-Americans (born and raised in the US)
have been more empathic and supportive of Black people and the movement right now vs. Asians from Asia in the US. Anyone seeing something similar? If so, why is that? Less exposure to diversity?

In addition to my experience it appears that I am a diversity hire 🤦🏽‍♀️. Any advice for navigating this? It's been at least 10 years since I've been dolo-solo. I don't even an Asian or Latin ally.

Why are town Hall meetings so impersonal? They are all about awards / the number of people hired. I know FCB health is large, but we never hear from people who aren’t Executives. Last town hall, when discussing inclusion efforts, there were no people of color represented and one of the 4 pillars of diversity was centered around our “reputation as an organization” (that really rubbed me the wrong way). At my last agency those conversations were always led by people of color from every level.

Any Favorite D&I buzzwords and phrases? Mine is diversity of thought.

The ad industry is legendarily homogenous. Won’t unionizing simply close ranks & protect existing white professionals, who then protect other professionals just like them, resulting in LESS diversity?

We’ll have parent’s support for a good long time and I know that might mean we could slack and then rudely be awakened by reality after they leave in a few months.
