Buying a used car in the next few months. Having a hard time deciding between a “sports” car and SUV. I enjoy the ride of a car that has better handling and is fast but I also enjoy the height of a SUV and it’s practicality (I take weekend getaway trips often and trunk space) Can y’all bring me some perspective? Here are some options: Older Acura MDX, Infiniti G37 coupe, older Lexus rx350, CPO bmw 340i, CPO Lexus rx350 f sport

Damn y’all, I make 90k. I was taking like 04-08 mdx and rx350 lmao

Spend 5k on a 20 year old Camry and 30k on a 997.1 911.

Best of both worlds: there are some 3 Series wagons on the CPO page. And they have the benefit of holding their value better due to rarity.

Cadillac CTS-V Wagon. Seriously best of all worlds. Downside is they are already appreciating. Upside is it kept well they’ll hold value. Not sure about maintaining but should be ok-ish.

Look at a Mazda CX-5. It's the best handling SUV on the market. Full stop. Now, the older 2.5L engine without the turbo is maybe a little underpowered, but the handling and ride make up for that. (The turbo in the current model actually has more HP than an Audi Q5, and it's excellent.)

I love my CX-5. It's so much fun to drive, but very convenient for road trips. With COVID, road trips are all I am taking for a while, so the extra space is very handy.

Looking at your list of possibles, I would skip the Acura MDX (big 3-row family car) and look at an RDX. It's smaller and pretty nimble. Lots of newer ones around at good prices because they did a new generation in 2019.

What’s your ideal budget?

No more than $35k but less is better 😛 I’m aiming towards a happy medium between the worst and best of those

@OP did you end up deciding what you want? I’m on this same boat and it’s been difficult

The answer to your question is actually a wagon.

I want a new stick car. Any ideas?

Some cars you dreamed about when you were younger that when you got to the age where you could drive one, you realized, man, I’d rather be in something else! I tried getting to an Aventador a few years ago when my M5 was being serviced and I realized I was too bulky to get in. When I was looking for. Y current daily driver, I thought about leasing an Alfa Romeo, it again, too bulky to get in. I looked into getting a C6 Corvette before, and then realized that driving one would kill my back.

Does anyone have any experience about the Nissan Leaf? Looking to get a basic electric car to do my local miles (about 10 k a year) and don’t need anything fancy in terms of speed, looks etc. specifically looking for reliability and range of 150-200 miles without breaking the bank and the leaf seems to be the least expensive car out there after accounting for federal rebates. Or are there better options? Will keep my ICE SUV for longer drives. Most charging will be don’t at home overnight.

Buy/lease now or defer to Q1-2023?

My car broke (engine seized, 10y old). I am interested in 530i ($62k price), however 3year lease is $1,000+ monthly (with $5k down). Monthly lesse payment is 50% more than bmw advertised offers (“south FL dealers are not participating in the program”)

Q to car gurus/experts- should I defer purchase/lease for 6 months? My logic, the impending recession will reduce demand and we will go back to more balanced market (lower prices with negotiation).
