Trying to exit into FAANG but know it may be a long shot involving a handful of rejections. Meanwhile got approached by a number of recruiters for a) smaller emerging startup <but need to shift geo>, and b) major banks for in-house strategy. I’ll proceed with interviews with a) since it will give me a flavour of tech recruiting, but should I even go through with interview process for b)? Thoughts? Fyi, have not interviewed in 4+ years!

Was told by higher ups to present work in a client meeting specifically because I’m a woman and they wanted to hear from a woman’s POV. My boss said he would do the set up and hand it over to me. He steamrolled the whole thing and I never even got to open my mouth. He apologized to me via slack during the meeting, but still proceeded to bogart the conversation. Should I send him a polite but firm email calling him out?

At a former company, they let you expense $20 for working 10+ hours in a day, but you could never use it because it would always be rejected.

Recently started at a new firm, and I had a rough week last week (two 14+ hour days). New firm has a similar policy, so I asked. Was told not to submit the $20 reimbursements. Just as I was about to get frustrated, he told me I should get dinner for my wife and me. Only rule was to keep it under $100.

Don't like working 14 hour days, but this was nice.

What is the general consensus on workload?
