1. If they pledged company money, keep in mind it is not their own personal money. 2. Look at how diversified their boards are 3. They did it because they would have been bad if they did not do it. Mostly PR and some of their workforce is AA so they had to send a message of support. 4. You have to see how long they keep supporting AA issues. 5. Also see how does their company fund election campaigns. If they donate for Trump re-election (check out PayPal, NFL teams, etc) you know which side they are on.

It’s all reactive. There are very few agencies that have modernized themselves enough to truly live and operate inclusively with equality. Statements are PR. If they mean it they’ll be making changes not just to address Black lives but all POC, gender inequality, LBGTQ etx.

👀 30%?!! More like 1% and only because it may impact sales revenue.

I honestly think that’s ok. Money talks in this country - getting NFL, Brees to change their position is what the protests are about. If it’s in their interests to support this movement, then I (personally) feel that’s the power of the protest. Let the authenticity come later as long as the change comes now

I agree. I think it’s like Pride messages. Just because every company posts a rainbow message in June doesn’t mean they’re actually supportive of the LGBT community, movement or their LGBT employees. But the fact that the pressure exists for them to even pretend to be days something about how far we’ve come as a society. I feel it’s the same with BLM. If it’s become a liability for your brand not to say something, it shows how far the movement has spread. Is this enough? Of course not. Companies need to follow through and should be held accountable for it. But I do think what we’re seeing is unprecedented.

100% today. 5% a year from now. Today it is a critical business issue, but support and focus will unfortunately wane as progress stalls. Hope I’m wrong.

Has anyone done a 2-hr roundtrip daily commute for years? Unfortunately in this situation due to location of spouse’s job -it’s fairly rural and that area doesn’t have the same level of education (kid is about to start K), diversity, convenience, jobs opps me, stuff to do or parks as our current city has. Switching jobs is not an option for him unfortunately. I do feel very guilty about the long commute for him though.

Parents are deciding between moving to WVirginia vs Virginia for retirement to be closer to us based in fairfax, va(ideally be at 1 hour driving distance). They currently in the mid west but WVirginia appeals to them because of low taxes, low cost of living. We are also poc so appreciate some diversity. What are some areas you would recommend both in Va and WV? What else should they consider prior to house hunting? Dad likes to garden/farm as well so looking for homes with large backyards. Tia!

I hope most of us can agree on the below as fellow Americans: -Any group wanting to cause harm to people or a specific group of people have no place in our country. -Clearly our country is hurting and needs productive dialogue at the community, state, and national level from both sides. -One side is never right. MSNBC, Fox News, and CNN are also rarely right. -We’re in dire need of empathy and care for one another regardless of political views, race, geographic location, gender, etc.
