How much of a raise % should I leave one big 4 for another big 4? Keeping in mind I’m expecting about a 15% salary bump in October. Is it fair to ask for 25% more of my current salary (which would be 10% more than my salary in a couple months) since I would not get a raise until next year at the new big 4. KPMG EY PwC Deloitte

Mate I’m not sure if you came here for a pity fest or because you actually think you’re being underpaid. You can’t just find random people that are being paid more (these guys could easily just be smarter, more experience, better looking, etc) and go around crying “why does everyone make more than me”. Think about this, there are 24 year old managers at MBB making the same as you today and those guys at 30 make probably double what you do. Only you can be responsible for your happiness ! Keep it gangsta
How do you figure you’re underpaid?
You make more than a quarter of a million dollars! Is it possible there are people who make more than you...sure! But in all likelihood the role you took has a salary range and you’re in it. Probably not on the highest end but I guarantee you’re paid similar to what others in your role are being paid with equivalent education/experience.
You can’t just say “I’m a director how much should I make?” If you thought you should be getting paid more you should’ve negotiated it before your offer.
I don’t understand these broad random comparisons of titles across jobs that are completely different, in different cities, different industries, different sets of managerial responsibilities—all somehow with an expectation that salary is a standard range.
I wish I was this underpaid
Weird flex..but ok
So, if everyone else was making $200k you would be stylin? This is what behavioral economics for upper middle class people looks like...
I think OP may be misunderstanding something .... industry director =\= consulting director
Yeah 😂 I’m a Vice President but don’t worry about having the same kind of comp or power as Joe Biden / Mike Pence
Um, I got promoted this year and am at ~230k all-in. No clue how you’re concluding that you are severely underpaid
So funny, that was my comp first year as well at PwC
When I made a director, first year I was at $230K all in and that was 2018. Fast promoted since b-school so jumps were good but still lower than you😅.
Switched to another firm and much higher comp now. If you are at the same firm, I feel increases tent to be lower
Great. And what's your total YOE and TC?
I’m not sure where you’re getting your data points from but $260k all in is not “severely underpaid”. Jumps from other firms will come in at the higher end of the range but ‘‘twas ever thus. If you want a big raise, you gotta make a big jump!
I agree with you @E1, for large jumps in comp you need to switch between tier of firms or industries (e.g., Big4 to MBB or PE).
I guess director comp in industry could range anywhere from 200-350ish all in with most probably in the 250 range. This is all based on conversations with friends who have left consulting
My roommate is an analyst and brings in over 500K. You can already guess the industry.
Titles are overrated. Cash rules everything around me.

Lol my first director role comp was 120, in Nyc. Learned from my mistake
300k

Was Director in industry, now in consulting. This is completely based on location, area that you are a Director, and size of your organization. I've seen anywhere from 180k to 350k based on variables, but agree with others that 250k TC isn't out of the ordinary.
$310 counting base, bonus and profit sharing. Recently promoted as well.

Firm?
YOE
AIL?
Where are you at today?
What part of the 260 is Base vs. Bonus? How did you learn you are severely underpaid?
Just got an industry offer around 190k, lol
