Industry. Former EY M2. Base was 10K more but bonus was 10 times more than EY. Better work life balance, lesser dirty politics, 2-3 times remote work, no travel and lesser hassles. Flip side? Less learning, slow. Am I happy? Yes.
Same as VP1. In Banking, slow life compared to consulting. Enough money to keep saving and paying the bills, and the biggest benefit - plenty of time on hand to actually live life.
Former Deloitte M3, exited to Director role (not FAANG). Base was $5k more ($125k), bonus was WAY more ($40k), and I received LTI (~$30k). Politics were different but far less toxic, WLB was fantastic, and ability to actually own and lead something YOY was incredibly fulfilling. That said, base raises were practically nonexistent, no upward or even sideways mobility, and at the end of the day I realized I wasn’t learning or developing at nearly the same rate - I was bored and I wasn’t challenged. Trade offs.
^You made 120 as an M3 at D??? What year was this.....
2014. I was seriously underpaid and they refused to adjust, so I said SEE YA!
