After completing 20 years as a Law Enforcement Officer with the Feds and on the way getting a JD and passing the Bar… trying to transition to an Immigration Attorney position… easier said than done!
Hello everyone, I am a Deloitte auditor and on a H-1b visa. My long term goal is to eventually go back to my home country. Should I still invest in Deloitte 401-k? I just want to know what the deductions are if and when I decide to go home and take the money. I don’t want to miss out on the match that Deloitte does but assessing if it’s worth it and if I will lose much of my money in taxes. Also I currently invest at home (fixed deposits) and get 6% returns. Thanks for any inputs in advance
H1B transfer timeline - How long did it take for you to get approval after the receipt notification?
Employer sent me to Mexico to work on a business Visa which means I'm not under Accenture Mexico payroll I'm still under US payroll. I have completed 365 days here already. Does this make me contd...
In 4 days, I will be completing 60 days of my lay-off from Deloitte. But, I am not at all worried, and taking time to ensure I get on right team/opportunity, which takes my career ahead. Why can I afford to to so? Coz, I am not on stupid H1B, and just became Canadian citizen 2 months before this pandemic started. Seems like all those 7 years of wait ( i used to call it jail term here due to limited opportunities) was totally worth it in terms of stability it brings. Happy Canada Day!
Are visitors (Indian citizens) on B1/B2 visa allowed on united airlines flights which have started from india to us? Any experiences?

Anyone gone through the skilled work visa process recently from Deloitte? How long did it take to get your CoS issued after filling out the questionnaire?
What is the cheapest / fastest way to send documents to Canada? Need to send some immigration docs to pwc law. I sent documents via USPS right around Christmas w/o tracking and it did not deliver.
Was you H1B approval notice mailed to you ? Did you HAVE TO sign to receive the delivery ? Or was it left in your mailbox/door ?
Guys what teams/space should I target if I absolutely do not want to work on making presentation Ideal work would be something related to programming and very little client presentation/requirement gathering
How soon can you put in your papers once you get your bonus paycheck without jeopardizing it? Are there any clauses that companies typically have for clawback if the employee leaves within x days? Need to jump ship as I’m exhausted with my job but waiting for the greenback 💰
Bit of a niche post here but FYI: if you have a points reservation & don’t confirm the certificates immediately & the hotel changes categories, your reservation will incorrectly update to the new rate
Tech companies are mostly built up of 22ish-40ish year olds (not data, just how it feels) which makes sense as tech has been booming for only 20ish years. What happens in the next 10-20 years when the ones who are older for tech now, become actually old for the workforce. Do we get phased out by young people due to lack of relevancy? Or will we have 50-60 year old SAAS sales people, project managers, etc, still in the space and about to retire?
My toxic trait is that as soon as work starts getting to stressful I start interviewing elsewhere, no matter how short of time I’ve been there.
Grant Thornton folks who work in Valuations - can I get some insight on Senior Associate roles? Interview process/comp/hours etc? Final round next week. Thank you!
I have the pwc on-demand video interview. It is an entry level role. Nervous because I failed it last year. Does anyone know good websites/tips to help me prepare? Many thanks.
Moving from consulting to engineering? Started out in CS and had internships and a short job as an engineer before I moved into consulting. I have been enjoying in a lot but am scared that I won’t be able to move back into engineering if I stay too long. Anyone have similar experience or advice? Have I already made myself a worse candidate by taking a non-engineering role or can I say that it allowed me to bolster my soft skills?
What’s the highest sign on bonus amount you’ve seen from Accenture recently at the Consultant level?
What is Boston Consulting Group base salary for Principal/Partner level (Chicago), and other comp details if available (bonus range, profit share, etc)?
Looking to rent a place in NY for January - June to be closer to SO during WFH, anyone have suggestions for the best option? Long term Airbnbs look relatively pricey
Accidentally missed credit card payment of $12 because it auto connects to my uber card I never use and now I’m scared it’s gonna negatively affect me
Been on a crazy busy project for almost a year now. Burned out. Thinking of accepting a very flexible, not technically demanding PMO role as my roll off. Is this a terrible idea?
How much should I expect to get after 2 years in advisory in NYC? Recruiters keep asking me what salary range I’m looking for and I have no idea what’s reasonable to say
I have so much stuff to finish for 9/15 and my mind decides it's a good time to go through heavily missing my late mother.
Need advice. I’m a 2nd year Analyst making $80K/yr. I contribute 6% to my 401k, $100/mth to a ETF index fund, and save ~10k year. How is my saving strategy? Am I doing pretty well?
