Can a Controller job (private company) be done with 5 years of PA experience in audit and advisory? Who does a controller usually report to?

I would say that a controller position that is achievable within 5 years is probably a pretty small operation with a controller reporting to a CFO and a couple of staff underneath. Most I have heard like that have been non profits.

Thanks for your reply!

Yes. I left after 5 years for controller at a smaller company (still a big 4 audit client). Report to the cfo and have 5 direct reports. The job is drastically different than what the controller did at my large public client

Thank you for your reply! Super helpful

In the interview process for a City Attorney office position. Is it ok to reach out to a current attorney in the office to get intel? For context, I don’t actually have a connection to this person other than I learned through the interview process that they too are from my law school. High likelihood that that person tells the interviewers I’ve reached to get intel. Is it OK/fair game for me to contact this person or not?

Are roles in large established FMCG (Unilever, P&G, Mondelez etc) still a good training ground for people early in their careers?

I ask as I'm looking for my next career move. However my friend has mentioned that a lot of them have frequent restructuring as they follow the zero-based budgeting methodology in a time when they are pretty mature.

Was wondering if any fishbowlers have insight or work in large FMCG, who could shed some light.
