Can a law firm look through your LinkedIn messages? Say “a person” leaves it logged in, and they just informally chat with a recruiter…. I’ve been getting weird vibes from my partners like I’m a risk to leave because another associate left (I am)

Technically yes they can. Everything that’s done using their network and equipment is fair game. I don’t think anyone’s bothering to hack your LinkedIn in the IT department though

Any news on hike.?

I a mid-level litigator and have an offer at a FAANG, however, I still have roughly $230,000 in student debt. If I can delay my start until June, I will receive the newest round of special bonuses and can make a lump sum payment of ~$50,000 (all principal with the 0%). If I decline the offer and stay with my firm, I can make another $50,000 payment at the end of the year. I ultimately want to be in house, preferably in tech. Would I be crazy to decline to use the bonuses to make big chunk pmnts?

What's a rule you are expected to enforce that you strongly disagree with or are indifferent to. Do you enforce it or take the risk? I move around as a tutor and am currently working with a school that has a ridiculously strict formal address policy. One of my second graders refers to me as "Miss Tutoring (my first name)" - it's about the cutest thing ever and doesn't bother me one bit. We are moderated sometimes and I'm more worried about her getting in trouble than me for not abiding.

Opinions welcomed:

V5 Legal Assistant here (2 years in industry, started at current firm in late April). I’m on pace for 2700 billable hours / year. To boot, that rate is going up because of all of the 65+ hour weeks lately, and the first month being billed around 40.

I was just told that I may not qualify for any bonuses because I haven’t been here for 1 year.

Is this normal? Am I crazy for thinking that I should be getting a *significant* bonus for all of the crazy hours and deadlines?
