Job transition question: I recently accepted an offer for a new role with Merrill Lynch, the following day I was fired from my previous employer. I haven’t filled out the updated work history background check info yet. The reason for termination was due to performance expectations not being met. Should I reach out to my new employer and let them know that I’ve been terminated? Should I just put the termination update on the background check form and leave it at that? Wondering what I should do.

Trying to leave advertising for tech. Made it through final rounds of the interviewing process and they called today to offer me a position two levels below what I interviewed for. They say I have a really strong foundation as a PM but they are worried about my tech skills and not ramping up fast enough. What does it mean when you apply to a bunch of jobs for which I am a good fit and you hear nothing back for these jobs? For some applications, I'm approaching two weeks since submission. I did get a call back to the first position I applied to; however, after the lab manager saw how much experience I had he said to release me, far too overqualified, tell him he should be applying to Senior Research Associate positions. I have ten years lab experience.

I want to live abroad for 1+ years within the next 5 years. 25 and in a mid-level role in industry right now. Interested in Switzerland, Denmark or London. I’m no longer a part of a large firm, so I can’t plan on a rotation. Any recommendations for how to get there? Anyone here a Client Onboarding Associate for an RIA? We have YE reviews coming up soon. I’m pretty sure I am a shoe in for a promotion, but in case I don’t get it (god-forbid), what is the going salary for this position? I have a non-attorney role but my company often assigns legal issues to navigate (contract review, dispute resolution, legislative/policy developments). I’ve been there 2.5 years and, when I came on, the role was pitched as one that would grow into counsel, then GC, within 5 years. I plan to leave but I want to change my title so my resume/LinkedIn look better for job applications. Has anyone come in on a non-attorney role and grown to counsel? Has anyone pitched their way into a counsel title?

Hi do they boot give citations or tow for street parking in midtown/downtown area? It’s the one where you pay at meter and put in license plate. Last few days I’ve been visiting my friend at a hotel in midtown and secured $2 parking per hour cause there are no grocery stores or free parking spots nearby. And been a bit risky like underestimated time. Seeing what repercussions would be. Parking city patrol would have to drive or walk by, pick my car to check, look for plate online etc
