Can any 🐠 here recommend a great accountant? Looking to move away from turbo tax and have someone dive deep into my capital gains, business expense write-offs, etc. Based in Bay Area, CA is that matters. Thx

Have you tried Accenture

like

Accenture doesn't do accounting. Back when they did accounting they were called Andersen. I'll let you look up how that turned out.

In a similar boat myself. What do you think is the trigger between doing them yourself to needing an accountant? I probably could use turbo tax again, but don’t want to be leaving money on the table.

Tbh making sure I’m accurately reporting all trades I’ve made to prevent any issues + getting an expert opinion on clever areas I could decrease the cons of cap gains tax

I will do it for u and file it on turbo tax

No idea about team/culture/stability differences yet.

The non-work factors I'm debating are:
1. Cost-of-living (housing!). Could probably afford a nice ~$1.25M SFH in Seattle suburbs sooner than a fair $1.5-2M near Cupertino.
2. Public School quality. Unsure private will be affordable.
3. Weather/region: activities
