Can anyone give me a ballpark estimate of how much they/their firm charges for external professional development training sessions? I'm looking into hiring somebody to do some productivity, communication, business development, etc. trainings for junior and midlevel associates and don't know what's reasonable. Do these companies usually charge per associate or session or hour?

I’ve been working for a five-year start up for a little over a year, and it’s sales have started to majorly decline… When do you decide it’s time to jump ship? I want to leave on a winning note, but the decline in sales has left no raises whatsoever, some people have left, so there’s added extra workload / responsibility, and no winning satisfaction from all the overtime put in. I’ve never worked harder at a job in my life, and I want it to work, but when is enough enough?

I love working at the bookstore and I'm proud to work with such a large group of people from different backgrounds. I'm really happy we're all here. But it probably isn't the best idea to get someone to reshelve books when they haven't been taught how to categorize them properly. It's like I spend most of the day following one of my coworkers around and discreetly fixing what he works on. He's a great guy, very personable, but wow is it frustrating.

Does anyone have insight on making the switch from consulting to investment banking.

Been talking to a middle market bank re: coming in as an analyst. Currently an SC with 2YOE making 100k (~125 tc).

Obviously banking has worse hours, but can I expect to make that much more given that I'm throwing away my 2 years of consulting experience?

I live in an apt unit right next to the gym. When people use any of the weight/press machines they let the weights slam down full speed. It’s super loud and startling. Some people using kettlebells also throw them around on the floor & I believe ppl bounce balls against a shared wall. These activities occur multiple times throughout the day/evening, but the weights slamming down is the worst. I ask the folks using the gym to be more mindful. But is there a good way to get my LL to do anything?

Just finished my 2nd year working insurance defence litigation, and moved in-house with an insurer a few months ago; however, I've concluded the work and career outlook are not for me. Looking at an opportunity to do corporate law grunt work (doc review, due diligence, etc.) as a possibility to transition areas of practice. Just concerned about how marketable those skills may be for future opportunities (with no other corporate experience) especially as a 3rd year.
