Who is in the dental field?
I started working for my company about 6 weeks ago and I was originally hired to work from a specific location closer to my home. I was told the 1st day of my employment that the location “is not ready yet” and that I would be working out of a temp location further from my home. It has been really inconvenient for me to say the very least and the remote option is unavailable to me until after the probation period which is 6 months. How should I approach having this conversation with my director?

I think the benefits of ACHE vary depending on circumstances. I think it can be really helpful for early careerists as it provides you access to a network of professionals, etc. Additionally most major cities have a local chapter which helps on that front.
For established professionals they provide a lot of education opportunities to help support leaders. I’m currently not a member, but I have the benefit of having a pretty wide network and mentors in the area I reside. When I was pursuing jobs in another city, I found it helpful to be able to reach out to folks and surprised by the positive responses.
Mostly for networking opportunities but they also have research they put out and speaking events, etc.
They also do a mentorship program so if you’re interested in a director or executive role, a mentorship program would be helpful.
I’m about to sit for the Fellow exam and having that FACHE designation is the gold standard for healthcare executives if you ever plan to go into leadership. But, I also agree with the other comments. The networking is great, CEUs are relevant to the industry and local chapters are wonderful!

Ok great!
The CEUs that they offer are awesome in addition to the networking opportunities. You’ll meet C-Suite-level execs from all around the area that can help you get your foot in the door or even mentor you.
I used to volunteer. There are a lot of executives and c-suite people there. If you want an in, I suggest you join. The opportunities are nice!!
ACHE is more applicable to professionals within hospitals, academic medical centers, health systems, and practice management. There is some value to nursing facilities as well. It is great for knowledge sharing and networking within those environments. If you are in the health plan, buying group, PBM etc side of things - ACHE is relatively unknown and not seen as a differentiator.
Yes! I love it!
