I’ve read that conspiracy theories spread during times of crisis because people are seeking answers to questions that don’t currently exist. When people don’t feel in control they build narratives in their mind to try and make sense of a situation.
Let’s not also forget that bad actors and trolls just want to create chaos. So they’ll find ways to reach socially isolated, poorly educated, digitally illiterate people who believe anything that could seemingly make sense to them.
Ah the old ‘spend billions on charity only to remake those same billions years later with a vaccine for a disease you created for a net 0 profit’ gig.
We can’t let him get away with it.
But why is Bill Gates all of a sudden the voice of coronavirus vaccines. All of a sudden he is granting all these interviews and pushing vaccinations. Pls do more research about how the gates foundation tested vaccines on children in india and Africa. On the surface they seem like good pple, "philanthropist " but truly their agenda is evil.
D1 and K1, I have a friend working in the Bill foundation and it’s insane what they have done for Africa. You have no idea of what you are talking about or maybe watch the documentary on Bill and think before you speak
I can’t believe someone actually took the time to write this. The government should impound their computer
Gates foundation has done a lot of vaccine work over the years and there is verifiable information on how they tested vaccines on third world country children and caused great harm, all in the name of “helping the world”.
If it were truly something real, then there’d be verifiable truth or valid claim to actually back it up. Like I said - show me the research and the actual deep dive, not some link of out of this world web of events. It’s funny because people who believe these things never can provide legitimate research done by an institution or credible group of journalists. It’s because you seem to lack some sort of education that you base your beliefs on conspiracies and can’t separate fact from some nut jobs. Don’t tell me you didn’t google search and get convinced by some poorly written breitbart article

It's coming from the same people that oppose raising taxes on billionaires. They say we should encourage billionaires to be charitable and philanthropic instead.
So as soon as one of them is, those people start demonizing and villifying him.
Half of America can't comprehend doing something for a reason other than self interest.

OP — conspiracy theories are what drive eyeballs to InfoWars and other sources. Eyeballs = money. The more insane the theory, the more money the spreader of theories makes.
And while the vast majority of us are smart enough to ignore idiot conspiracy theories, others actually believe it. And a few of them end up in the mainstream.
Pizzagate was pushed by what some consider to be “legitimate” sources.
If it was just infowars and Fox News pushing it, I wouldn’t be too concerned. Particularly concerning are the people seemingly on the other side of political spectrum talk about these theories as well
These theories about Bill gates have been around since the early 2000's, actually. I remember reading some web page about how the purpose is population control, and testing vaccines on third world populations to make sure they're safe for mainstream truth.
The exact narrative that Gates is the mastermind may not be completely accurate, but it's certainly possible. There were patients in Guatemala that were purposefully infected with syphilis or gonorrhea without their consent. If you're a poor person living in the third world, seeing influencers on Instagram living like Gods while you make the 5th batch of dirt cookies (literally dried patties of mud with zero nutritional value) for the day because there aren't even insects left to eat, you quickly realize that nobody is going to give you anything unless they are getting even more back in return.
I mean, there's around 900 million people who are perpetually hungry. We could probably feed them for a fraction of the money that's been spent on Covid-19, and maybe even less people would die. It (should) tell you a lot about how the world works and how people want resources to be allocated.

You're being facetious, but that was a witty quip
