Hi! Does anyone have experience working with Gallagher? What’s it like, work/life balance, etc?

Early into career in Technology Consulting at a large firm (think Big 4). Have some experience in implementation and it has been fine but not where I see myself long term. Trying to figure out what other career paths I can go into such as Data Engineering or Data Analytics. Also interested in AI and Emerging technology such as blockchain.

Any advise and/or recommendations on how to navigate different career paths or any resources (learnings or certifications) to look into?

Due to Covid, I was let go from my firm after only a few months of working there. I’ve since been rehired in the last few months. This is a new area of law for me and I’m not enjoying it at all. How soon could I think about leaving? I’m going into my fourth year and don’t want to get pigeonholed.

I'm already due for promotion in my current organization which gives me 20% hike from July 2022. If I consider this hike. Cognizant offer 20LPA is 38% increase. Should I ask more from Cognizant? Prior to COVID, I met with a psychotherapist in-person who worked wonders, but haven't spoken with her in over two years. About to accept an offer at a small private company. Lower base than I make now, but have been told there’s no cap on variable. They’ve told me that the goal is to pay me more (total comp) than I make now, but there are no KPIs or target bonus explicitly in the offer. I’m in talks with a recruiting firm for a position at a healthcare company. The job posting says this is contract. When I asked about the length of the contract, I was told this can be either a 1099 contractor role or a W2 roll where I would be an employee and get benefits from the recruiting company. This is not something I am familiar with navigating. Can someone provide insight to pros and cons of 1099 vs W2? I want to make sure I choose the route that best fits my needs.
