Can anyone give any insight on pros vs. cons on cyber security vs. Data analytics? I’m looking into making a change but not sure which degree is more fundamental. Looking to stay in Healthcare

Hmm difficult choice indeed, I personally think cyber security would be the more sustainable choice as I can see us moving towards self programming algorithms within ~10-ish years, but then again healthcare is slow and you can apply data analytics to cyber security as well (i.e. anomaly detection of application traffic)

Sorry 😂 am not making this easier, am I? Anyway I think: go with what you enjoy doing, you’ll find a way! 🤗

I'd advise you to do data science, because you can ultimately work on a greater variety of problems. (Including cyber security problems, which I do.) But I'm saying that partially because I don't find security particularly exciting: most of the people I've met in the field get up in the morning really excited about stopping Bad Guys and I don't.

People have also been predicting that computational processes will all be automated away at least since the database revolution of the 80s, do I don't personally worry about data scientists being out of work. I think it's just as likely (ie very unlikely) that someone will solve security as that someone will solve data science.

New Book Alert!

If you are a sales professional that tackles complex sales read this book. It lays out a process from moving your deals on a transactional basis to large value added opportunities.

The author has a SaaS background so expect it to highlight examples from that field. Even if you do not cover that industry segment you will still learn a lot from Jamal.

Totally random musing for the day. Should Microsoft be a part of FAANG?

I hereby propose that it should be changed to FAMANA (last A since Google is part of Alphabet).

I feel like I've seen this question before on here but what do you all advise when a client is asking about refinancing student loans? Is there a go-to strategy or company?

Lately as I've been WFH I've been pretty good about ending work at a reasonable time, say 7pm. But recently a couple deals I'm working on have hit the home stretch. I've been working slightly longer, but nothing crazy. When I try to get to sleep though, I think about the deals and all the ways it could go wrong and how to have contingency plans in place. It's been hampering with my otherwise healthy ability to get to sleep. Can anyone relate / have any suggestions?
