Do you think it’s better to go to immediately go a firm that’s beyond your skillset or work your way up to that firm? For example, going to a T2 firm as an experienced hire having never done consulting without or starting at a smaller consulting firm and then going to T2/MBB?

Currently an A3 in audit. My team communicated to me that they’re pushing for me to get mid-year promo (Jan 2022) but I’m also interested in leaving to another Big 4 for AAS as an S1. Current salary is $73.6k and am unsure of how much I should be going for to make the jump worth it. I know EY FAAS offered a friend $85k in my market but assuming I get mid year promo I’m not so sure the salary bump would be significant enough. How much room for negotiation is there with Big 4 experienced hires?
Any guidance on IBM partner comp & structure (Base+equity+Bonus+sign on)? I understand it’s not like a typical B4 partner comp structure
Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls

Today was one of those days where I was working all day, but have little to show for it in terms of work product. I know we get paid to think, so I am wondering, how do you capture your 8+ hour day in billables when there aren’t a bunch of emails/phone calls, there was no “research” and you made little progress with your written work?
