Got an offer for a L7 role at Goog, tc is 800 annual ( base, stocks, and bonuses). Torn between taking the role and joining Google or staying at the Firm and making partner this year or next at the latest. I feel it is crazy to walk away from such money and can’t justify the grind for 2 more years before making similar income.

Would you rather make $120k a year while working 40 hours a week or $350K while working 70 hours a week. Please do not say it depends. Answer strictly on those two variables.

Has anyone interviewed for an operations manager position with Uber? If so how’d it go?

Frustrated by EOY evaluations and lack of transparency from my manager. I was told when I started a new role in September that my metrics from these first months would not play a role in my raise. When following up with my manager about why my raise was 20k less than my colleague they told me it was completely based on my metrics when I know it’s based on having started in a different department. My metrics are the same as theirs and I do more above & beyond work. Do I stay?

Today, I got a call from Delloite India and HR says that she can only give 30% even though I have mentioned the current offer with 70% hike on my current CTC. HR instinct is that I should be ok with lower CTC part since the offer is from Delloite. Obviously I am interested to work for Big4 but does it really worth it? Would like to know your take on this? Is moving to management track better that being an IC as specialist role? I have currently 2 offers with slight difference in package whereby ic role is fetching more price since I am using my 1st offer to counter. But 1st offer being a management track, I am more inclined to it. Any suggestions. Current xp is 10 years as BA and keenly looking for onshore role too. I don’t get it. Prospective applicant here. Why does leadership actively read these forums and expend significant time to monitor their external reputation instead of just making an attempt to address the issues that lead the same critique to re-appear again and again? It’s been consistently documented that happy teams means better talent, better performance, reduced attrition, and free reputation management. Those all culminate to significant saved time and more money in the long run.

I recently had an offer for 125k w a requirement to quit freelancing if I accept. I currently make 90k + about 30k in freelance YTD, so i said I would need closer to 140k to quit my freelance. They said no, we parted ways. 2 weeks later they are back w a 140k offer but won’t generate a new offer unless I verbally say I’m ready to sign an offer letter tomorrow. Am I nuts for saying no?
