Tldr; stay at toxic tech company with no career growth and launch my own business on the side, OR look for another job for career/seniority growth but lose on starting my own thing in parallel for now.

Context: joined a tech ent 4 months ago with an expected growth path, which isn’t the reality now that I’m in and see the toxic work culture. I have the doors opened at my previous job (agency) and could potentially go back to a more senior role, but the w/l balance suck

I’m a PM at a Solar racking company. Been there 1.5 years. Been a PM and civil engineer for 7 years. Prior to that, I have 7 YOE as a graphic designer. So 14 YOE combined.

Hi fish - has anyone here navigated an offer in another state but not moved to that state ? Wondering about legality of remote work with payroll, etc.

Received an offer, can choose of many states to work it, just not the one I live in for payroll tax reasons. I can’t move due to personal reasons, but I love the offer.

I was offered a position through a recruiter and the company is now doing a background check. I haven’t received a written offer letter or started any paperwork.

After receiving the offer I turned down a final interview with another company. I’ve also been invited to another interview with someone else.

I am working in TCS from last 1.5 years on an Oracle implementation project. My work revolves around data migration. I use nothing more than PL/SQL and very basic SQL. Our project has very tight deadlines and ends on October 2023. Because of this I was unable to learn new skills outside of project. I want a way out, either out of this project or join another company. My major fear is regarding the skills I have: Oracle, plsql, sql. Is it enough to look out for roles in other companies?
