Scenario: my state has a 3 yr statutory rape law, this case involves 3 yrs 4 month bf and gf. It’s never been alleged, nor based on the facts is it alleged to be non-consensual or coercive. The parents of the victims aren’t pushing for it either. I’m a new ADA, and shadowing, so I need some advice on alternatives to the strict statutory punishment.
